Liverpool theatre company What We Did Next will be performing the North West premiere of the critically acclaimed musical ​Be More Chill from the 8th-11th May at The Hope Street Theatre in Liverpool.

The thrilling story of a teenage boy’s quest to become popular and talk to the girl of his dreams with the help of a pill-sized supercomputer.

Be More Chill is ‘the little musical that could’. It started in a small theatre in New Jersey in 2015 and, thanks to an incredible fan following, opened on Broadway in 2019.

Liverpool theatre company WHAT WE DID NEXT will be performing the award-winning musical, Assassins, from 6th-9th June at Unity Theatre.

Assassins delves into the lives of nine people throughout history who have attempted to assassinate the most powerful man on Earth, some with greater degrees of success than others, but all sharing in the desire to pull the trigger.

First performed off-Broadway in 1990, it went on to win five Tony Awards after it debuted on Broadway in 2004.

Liverpool Theatre Company, What We Did Next, Celebrates Its Fifth Birthday.

City centre based theatre company, What We Did Next CIC, turns five in May. Established in 2008, the company celebrates five years since its inaugural production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, at the Kazimier in May 2009.

The company is marking this milestone with a concert featuring songs from their previous productions, as well as other musical theatre numbers and several adaptations of pop classics. The concert will be performed by the WWDN Singers, a choir set up as part of the company, giving members an alternative to being involved in full-scale productions. This free, non-auditioned choir gives the company a focus between shows and extends the company’s appeal.

Batboy: The Musical To Fly Into The Unity Theatre, Liverpool.

From the composer of Legally Blonde the musical (Laurence O’Keefe), comes a love story that gives a little bite to the summer season. City centre based theatre company What We Did Next is bringing their latest production to Unity Theatre, the comedy-horror Batboy: the Musical from Wednesday 5th till Saturday 8th June.

The story concerns a supernatural creature, half bat/half boy, who is discovered in a cave in the American south and brought to the home of local veterinarian Dr. Parker. The Parker family takes him in and teaches him to behave as a normal human, attempting to integrate him into a narrow-minded town. As he tries to fit in, romantic sparks fly and he decides to run away with the veterinarian’s daughter, Shelley. However happiness is shattered as the town hears the shocking story of Bat Boy’s unholy origin.
