There are so few things that are ever truly accidental, most chain of events and progression of cause and effect are designed, perhaps unconsciously but always with the firm result that the person’s life will change because of it. Accidently on Purpose, the eye rolling declaration of the mother who sees her child do the exact opposite of what she has commanded and even the experiment gone haywire in the lab, all have their reason, the effect consuming. In the studio, in the pursuit of sign of elegance and beauty, it is not an accident that comes to mind, but the sheer weight of passion that regales the listener to appreciate the coming together of British Country greats, The Shires, for their third album.

Every generation believes itself to be the lucky ones, the ones that have been able to have everything thrown from the past and with the prospect of changing the future; in many respect they could be considered right, just in their belief that their take on the unspoilt riches of My Universe is one to grapple with and shape in their will.

Like most good things, The Shires seemed to come out of almost nowhere. The puff of wind that gently brought them into the lives of the Country fans, not just delicate and pleasurable, but one with a hard edge, the British crush well endowed on a pairing suited to capturing the ears of the listener with their dramatic songs but laid back and sweetly divined innocence.

Music has no borders, it has certain areas of influence which can undoubtedly be traced back to a particular area or region. Unlike though the political machinations in which many try to claim a piece of land as their own, to demand that one genre of music only exists to serve the purpose of the people that thrive, live or stagnate because of a certain group or variety is to court absurdity.
