An August day in 1962, America wakes to the news that its young blonde bombshell, Marilyn Monroe had died. The woman who had been a breath of fresh air and had made films such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the exhilarating Some Like It Hot, the superb Niagara and The Misfits had passed away in an overdose and the decline of innocence in the American culture was started.
