New Christmas Show, Mam! I’m ‘Ere, To Give Festive Cheer.

This Christmas there is a new show in town, bought to life by Life in Theatre Productions – creators of the sell-out and critically-acclaimed musical The Last 5 Years, and David Mamet’s comedy, A Life In The Theatre, and Mam! I’m ‘ere! The Christmas Disco Musical! promises to be one of the biggest theatrical events of the festive season.

The Unity Theatre Reveals Its 2013 Spring Season.

The Unity Theatre in Liverpool has enjoyed a remarkable year of theatre during 2012. Some of the amazing productions that have thrilled audiences during the year have included the incredible Waiting For Brando which starred Paul Duckworth and Carl Cockram, Jane McNulty’s Our Lady of the Goldfinches, a superb re-working of The Crucible, Spike Theatre’s hilarious The Games and Tmesis Theatre’s tour de force Wolf Red with the brilliant Elinor Randle.

The Unity looks to continue this into 2013 with the launch of their new season of productions. The new year sees the electrifying Big Wow return in their hit sell out show The Art of Falling Apart from January 9th till January 26th Robert Farquhar’s acclaimed play stars Matt Rutter and Tim Lynsky.

Liverpool Sound and Vision: The Sunday Postscript, An Interview With Alan Stocks (Part Two)

Alan Stocks is one of Liverpool’s most easily recognised actors. His time in plays as diverse as Dead Heavy Fantastic, The Flint Street Nativity, Tartuffe and Scouse Pacific has made him a firm favourite with theatre audiences.

For the last few weeks he has been in the outstanding play by Joe Ward Munrow, Held, at The Liverpool Playhouse Studio Theatre with the superb Pauline Daniels and the inspiring Ged McKenna. Alan’s performance in the production is arguably the finest of his career to date. Alan will soon be seen in the musical Mam! I’m ‘Ere! at The Dome alongside Stephen Fletcher, Eithne Browne, Drew Schofield, Helen Carter, Rachel Rae, Paul Duckworth and Keddy Sutton.

Every great story deserves a sequel. Every drunk Irish Catholic Father who is best friends with four former gambling mad nuns and who escaped the island of Secosu merits the chance to have his story continued.

The exceptional applause that rang out within the confines of the Unity Theatre’s studio two space said it all. From the exceptional performances by all the actors on stage, to the direction and the incredible writing of Mike Morris and Steven Higginson, Waiting For Brando was one of the most outstanding productions of our times.
