Paramore, Paramore. Album Review.

Times and band line ups may change but as long as the central component of Paramore remains then the group will continue to be an interesting listen, a smashing diversion from corporate pop and banality. That central piece that makes this, the band’s fourth album and the first one to be self-titled, is the endeavour and honesty in which the band performs and perhaps for the first time the ethos is stamped all the way through the recording.

Paramore released their new album Brand New Eyes this week and after the disappointment of 2007′s Riot, the band have come back with a more mature and lyrically improved album. The band seem more relaxed with themselves, possibly more than at any other time in their career and it shows from the off as vocalist Hayley Williams comes across as a genuine contender for top female rock voice.

If anything was going to take the chill and damp out the Merseyside air then a night of rock by one of the brightest young American bands to visit Britain in a long time would remove the gloom and despondency that overshadowed the city.

Paramore have come a long way in the last six years, from the fringes and largely ignored by the mainstream to one of the best and intense bands to catch live. Their gigs are considered to be one of the best you can catch live and on the basis of their performance at the Echo Arena it is easy to see why.
