What is a hero without their counterpoint, after all they come from the same stock, the same blood runs through their veins, it is only reasonable to assume that without the supposed hero running through their lives, that they too have adventures in which are just as remarkable, just as defining as those we come to seek from the protagonist we hope will save the day, and perhaps our souls at the same time.

There is a fine line between the hopeless romantic adventurer and the lie told in which to preserve the memory of what you set out to achieve; it is a line so thin that you cannot but help pity and remorse for those left behind to pick up the pieces of the notion and want of derring-do and you cannot help but feel the blur of admiration that strikes home, the sense of forlorn hope that cannot but be helped be seen as glorious failure and which makes the most interesting of stories.

It should never have been in any doubt that there would be a third series of Broadchurch commissioned, such a programme cannot be dismissed so easily with just two series underneath its belt and yet as the Not Guilty verdict came tumbling off the tongue of the Chairperson, there must have been an inkling that the original case was far from over.

The writer of Broadchurch must love playing with audience’s minds so much that he seems to take them to the point of one explainable and rational theory, before offering a certain line or screen shot which might go unnoticed in the melee of damnation and finger pointing, and a new line of though runs through the head and screams, “What about me?”

You can always rely on Chris Chibnall to throw a rather large spanner into the works. Not content with bringing one of the best detectives and certainly one of the most unique series to British television in 2013, he now invites all to revisit Broadchurch for a second time, and by doing so, throws everything that the viewer thought they knew completely and utterly into a frenzied doubt.

Think of the most precious commodity or product you can lay your hands on, how good it will feel in your hands and the power you could wield with it, the people you might be able to bend to your will for even just a glance of it. Such things are what drives the world and yet many miss the point, it is not about having the latest gadget in which to download a picture of a cat onto the internet, nor is it Time, which is a more noble outlook, but Love and acceptance and that is really what is at the heart of the latest Doctor Who story, Time Heist.
