Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut. (PS4) Game Review.

Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut is a psychological survival horror adventure game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. The sub-title of the game is rather appropriate as this is an extended version of the cult indie game by Jasper Byrne, which was originally released in Europe on March 27th 2012 and America on April 23rd 2012 for the P.C., Mac and Linux with PS3 and Vita releases following on September 24th 2013.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (PS4), Game Review.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is a third-person shooter game available from retail stores and for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. Plants vs. Zombies originated as a tower defence game released for Windows on May 5th 2009 before being ported to a range of platforms including PS3 and PS Vita. It must be appreciated that after two successful Plants vs. Zombies games; PopCap have attempted to spin the franchise off in a new direction as a third-person shooter, but is it a risk that has paid off?

Game Review: FIFA 15 (PS4).

FIFA 15 is a sports simulation football game available from retail stores and for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. The FIFA series started over twenty years ago when FIFA International Soccer was released in December 1993 for retro platforms such as the 3DO, SNES, Sega Mega Drive, Game Boy, Amiga and many more platforms with each iteration  ever since progressing into new realms of realism, graphical quality and atmosphere, while spanning multiple generations of consoles. The ultimate question upon the release of FIFA 15 must be how substantially it can build upon the previous game as FIFA 15 is only the second new-gen release within the FIFA series.

Destiny (PS4), Game Review.

Destiny is a hybrid of an open world first-person shooter and role playing game in an online connected world available from retail stores and for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. The new release naturally had a lot of high expectations with it being a partnership between the publisher Activision who own the behemoth first-person shooter franchise Call of Duty and developed by Bungie who was responsible for the success of Halo. However, can Destiny live up to such a high level of anticipation from all of the publicity it has generated over the last year and a half since the big reveal on February 17th 2013 via the video documentary titled Pathways Out of Darkness: A Destiny ViDoc and at the reveal of the PlayStation 4 at PlayStation Meeting on February 20th 2013 which has resulted in it becoming the most pre-ordered new franchise to date in the history of videogames?

That Trivia Game (PS4). Game Review.

That Trivia Game is a quiz game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. The game is the first quiz game to release for PS4 and with it being a quiz game it will naturally receive comparisons to the Buzz Quiz games that released exclusively on PS3 and PSP, so the question must be asked of how it stacks up in comparison to the Buzz Quiz games.

Luftrausers (PS Vita), Game Review.

Luftrausers is a side scrolling arcade aerial combat dogfighting game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita and PS3. The game started out life as a popular Flash game called Luftrauser in 2011 before gradually being redefined and having new content built on top of it in between other projects Vlambeer were working on at the time to substantially improve the overall experience.

Flockers (PS4), Game Review.

Flockers is a platforming puzzle game available from retail stores and for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4. The game is a modern take on the Lemmings formula brought to PS4 owners by Team 17; the same developer responsible for such retro classics as Alien Breed, Superfrog and Worms, alongside the more recent retro revivals for each of the three popular and well loved games.

The Swapper (PS4 Game Review)

The Swapper is a side scrolling puzzle adventure game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. This particular game has been recognised with a number of high calibre awards since 2011, such as winning the Indie Showcase award at the Develop Conference 2011 and the Special Recognition award at IndieCade 2011, which certainly helped to bring the game to light as Curve Studios has brought Facepalm Games’ The Swapper to PlayStation platforms.

Hohokum (PS4). Game Review.

Hohokum is an adventure title available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. The game is a creative collaboration between the developer Honeyslug and the artist Richard Hogg that seeks to provide a unique experience that is free of any enemies and is purely dedicated to non-linear exploration in a relaxing world.

Velocity 2X is a part twin-stick shooter, part platform game available for download from the PlayStation Store for the PS4 and PS Vita. The game is the much anticipated sequel to the multi award winning Velocity that was originally released in May 2012 as part of the PlayStation Minis range before receiving an overhaul under the title Velocity Ultra and releasing natively upon the one year anniversary of the original game for PS Vita in May 2013 and on PS3 in November 2013.
