Norse mythology is such that it gets overlooked in the modern world in favour of a more fashionable awareness of modern possibilities, political issues and our place in the world. It is not only Norse that suffers, even now looking say at British history in the history of the Roman occupation can lead to sneers of derision in some quarters, people, perhaps understandably, forgetting that the way we are now is because of the stories passed down in myth and legend, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, Native American, Inuit or even Norse, they play a part in the way we view heroes and evil in the world.

Frost calls and the Huntsmen go in search of more lands to steal; it might not sound like a fairy tale but The Huntsman: Winter’s War is no story in which to consult The Brother’s Grimm over, this is a made up sequel of its own creation.

There are films that offer so much in the small afforded time that a trailer entices you with that it’s possible to get caught up in the hype and growing excitement that comes along with every new release. The trouble with that at times is that it can lead you down the path of slighted and unrealistic expectation, the trailer never quite matching up to the heights you already have played out in your imagination.
