Dungeons & Dragons is a phenomenon of our time, more than a game, it is an icon, an industry masquerading as a competitive pastime. It is equally adored and derided, but there is no doubting the seriousness in which those who immerse themselves into the fortunes and constructed tales take as they don the imagination and furnish the creativity, and to those who watch from the sidelines, they cannot help themselves but wish to join in.

From surprise smash hit to mainstay of the franchise, Guardians Of The Galaxy has done enough to be equal to many of the tales brought to life from the graphic novels of Marvel to the big screen, and perhaps in timely honour, it is only right that the final scenes, for now at least, have seen the mixed bag of characters endear themselves into the public perception.

There will come a time when the cinematic world will be without Clint Eastwood and Dianne Wiest as a shining examples of how actors of a certain era on screen can still convey such depths of emotion with a single look down the barrel of the camera that you cannot but feel certain emotions come to the forefront of your mind as you watch them effortlessly portray life. Awe, grace, hope, they all have their dynamic hold on the cinema goer, and whilst actors such as Michael Pena, Laurence Fishburne and Bradley Cooper bring a wonderful passion to the screen, it is to a golden generation that perhaps we owe a life-long debt of enjoying cinema to.

All the fun of the original but with added family angst, if you are going to describe Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume Two in any way that resembles a nutshell then you can only go by that, a great family film that has kept Marvel Studios firmly in the top racoon place when it comes to portraying superheroes on film and that D.C. has a long way to go.

War has always been good for the economy, especially those that want to make a killing. It is no secret that the point of war is not to spread peace but to make money and for some bullets and dollars are all that make sense.

10 Cloverfield Lane, Film Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10

Cast: John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Gallagher Jr., Bradley Cooper, Suzanne Cryer.

It was only ever going to be inevitable that the strikingly excellent film Cloverfield would eventually bring some sort of sequel, after all J.J. Abrams is not known for leaving a story alone when there is a glimmer of hope that it can be taken just that next stage further. The presentation of the sequel though would always be seen as a testing ground for just how far a story regarding an alien invasion and the destruction of the world could be taken; monsters in the end are everywhere in such a premise.

Everybody has an idea; everybody has something to offer the world and should never be discouraged from attempting to bring it to fruition, to at least say they tried without having it rammed down their throat when the project goes wrong. The trouble is when money gets involved or when the scheme goes well, everybody wants a piece of the action and rather than congratulating the person, the bitter pangs of jealousy rear their head. Everybody has an idea, however the committee that thought Joy would make a great film seriously needs to look deep into their heart and ask themselves why they allowed it make it to the screen.
