Debates will rage on long after his replacement in the franchise is announced, a new favourite taking in the mantle as Ian Fleming’s suave, and sometimes brutal, hero, but as the final moments of No Time To Die roll, as the memories re-emerge of intricately drawn characters, of timely antagonists capturing the era with sublime fierceness, and of a screen hero facing arguably his own mortality, what we should arguably be recognising is that Daniel Craig as 007 is the greatest version of super British spy, James Bond, we might ever be treated to.

A feel-good musical that the whole family can enjoy is a scarcity, perhaps not completely rare, but certainly a genre lacking in want in amongst the incessant variety that is pitched, some banal, more often than not, unappealing, the message that comes across being one steeped in a false upbeat premise in which is like being fed on a sugar rich diet, the instant hit soon losing its lustre as you realise all you have digested is a propaganda lifestyle that unfortunately means nothing.

The Establishment has a way of winning every war it comes across, no scandal it seems is big enough to truly able to topple a Government, no outrage large enough to permanently harm the elected body that are there to supposedly look after the nation, its interests and its people; it is not the done thing and no matter who gets hurt, or whose reputation comes under fire, the party, the machine, the leadership continues, even if the face changes.

The Danish Girl has been a film in the making for so long, that has had so many stars attached to it that it began to feel as though it might never materialise. Yet time has a way of making cinema goers wait for what could be seen as a groundbreaking and informative film, and they don’t come much more groundbreaking than a story about one of the first recorded gender reassignment procedures on record.
