We have learned through hundreds of years of written storytelling, and thousands of years of oral narrative, that the woods and forests, whilst beautiful to look at, hold many secrets, untold dangers, and creatures that hunt for the sheer exhilaration of the chase, and to feed on those unsuspecting souls who pay no heed to the warnings, or are clouded by the romanticism that has filled their heads of the beauty in the trees.

We should never grow tired of being able to remember what it was to be carefree, of playing a game that would keep us on our toes and sharpens our wits, that made us become friends with those that we might see as different, more passionate and creatively devilish, than any of those that we come into contact later in life with. If we cannot play then how do we grow, the dull routine of staid and affected boredom is not one we should ever fall into, we should retain the sparkle of childhood, of those teenager years when someone slapped you on the back and run off claiming you were it.

The Mummy. Film Review.

Cast: Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Marwan Kenzari.

There are times in which as a fan of the realm of the macabre and chilling, that you can actually find yourself missing the world of Hammer House of Horror, not through any type of morbid curiosity, but because it would have been perhaps more interesting to see how such creatures of British literature might have fared with a more diverse treatment rather than being arguably hung out to dry in the race to take on Marvel and D.C. in a world of heroes, villains, gods and monsters that Universal Pictures seems hell bent on creating.

Legends come from stories long since handed down and embellished, made uncertain and then allowed to fade into the darkness of our collective memories, such is the fate of us all and without proof, who is to say that you also won’t become a myth.

A Rebellious Woman or a woman who understood the complexity of wanting equality in an age of misogyny and pathetic fear in wondering what education would do to a female mind. Not an episode set in the current era, nor back in the dark days of 1970s Britain in which sexism was incredibly rife but in the days of France in which the rule of law was not in the lap of the King as is supposed but in that of the Cardinal and of the Church.
