Every generation has its Batman. Every generation around it could find fault with the portrayal, only as with the divisive nature of religion, there are too many gods in which to hoist your devotion and understanding too. Better it seems is to acknowledge that each interpretation is but a part of a whole, take what you want from it, leave good karma, and revel in perhaps one of graphic novel and comic history’s finest ever creations.

In the best laid traditions of James Bond, Her Majesty’s Government, and the Secret Services, it takes a psychopath to catch a psychopath, however the instrument of such bluntness is a cold steel walnut going up against a fragile glass hammer when it comes to penetrating the exterior of the film lover, especially when such a tale is presented without the humour of 007 or the best laid plan of a worthy adversary.

Rags to riches, we all dream of bettering the hand we have been played, to take on the phantom dealer of the cruel hand of fate and lending our name to the appropriate nature of immortality. Few though hold their nerve by sticking to their principals, by refusing to yield to temptation that such rapid rise might entail, and whilst they will probably end up forever having their dreams dashed, at least they can do so with a clear conscious and a heart that is light and with sign no sign of corruption in their soul.

It has taken time to get the film right, to put into place a mainstream film in which, not with-standing the excellent Wesley Snipes led Blade trilogy of films, has cast a superhero in which the cinematic experience is one of overwhelming joy, of learning the lessons shared with positive enlightenment and one that does not bow to the demands of absolute anger, Black Panther is a film in which the rise of the proud and the noble who have fought every inch of the way for such a moment will relish, and quite rightly so.

You can’t keep a good franchise down; lord knows they tried with the release of the much maligned episodes one and two of the Star Wars saga, but no matter what, eventually the licence to entertain and print money, sell merchandise and hopefully the true point of making a good story realised on screen will see the series continue.

 Rise of the Planet of the Planet of the Apes will surely go down as one of the finest films from the summer of 2011. It was certainly up against some good opposition from the Marvel comic- franchise with their surprisingly good Captain America and the last in the series of films involving everybody’s favourite teenage wizard, however with a story line that had fans of the original Charlton Heston movie salivating over their popcorn there can be only be only one true winner.
