Explore Liverpool History At St. George’s Hall This October.

Local Liverpool and Merseyside history will be explored through a fascinating and educational weekend of events when St Georges Hall presents The Big History Weekend on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October.

Throughout the weekend visitors will get the opportunity to explore Liverpool and Merseyside’s history through a variety of stalls, exhibitions and talks from guest speakers – with representatives from a whole host of local history, heritage and family history groups from across Merseyside in attendance.

Simple Minds To Release New Album And Perform In Liverpool As Part Of U.K. Tour.

Fresh from their renaissance and rightful reappraisal, Simple Minds will be releasing BIG MUSIC, their first album of new material in five years on November 3rd and will also be embarking on a major multiple date U.K. tour in 2015. The tour, which starts at Grimsby’s Auditorium on Friday 27th March and finishes in Ipswich on May 4th, will come to Liverpool’s Empire Theatre on Thursday 2nd April.

The Script Annouce U.K. Tour For 2015.

The Script have announced the news that their fans have been eagerly awaiting. In February 2015, the Irish three-piece will kick off an U.K. arena tour, starting in Glasgow on the 20th and which will come to Liverpool on Thursday 5th March. Tickets go on sale on Friday 26th September at 9.30am from gigsandtours.com or ticketmaster.co.uk. Tickets are priced at £27.50 and £35, plus booking fees, and fans will be limited to 6 per booking. The Script will also be joined by very special guest Labrinth.

Following 2014’s spectacular, sell out Ruby Anniversary Tour and accompanying celebratory box set album release, Giants & Gems, the Stranglers march ever onward with the announcement of their 2015 U.K. tour which will come to Liverpool on Monday March 9th.

As 2014 draws to a close, punk-era iconoclasts, The Stranglers can look back at what must be one of their most successful years ever. Earlier this year the band celebrated their 40th anniversary with the spectacular Ruby Tour. Fans, old and new, flocked to venues throughout the land to hear a thrilling programme of music, spanning five decades, performed by one of the finest live groups in the country.

The festive season made an early appearance in Liverpool today as an all-star cast officially launched the biggest panto in town, Jack and the Beanstalk at the Epstein Theatre.

LHK Productions return to the Epstein Theatre this Christmas with one of the world’s favourite fairy tales from Thursday 11th December 2014 to Sunday 4th January 2015 for an incredible 49 shows. As always the show promises to deliver the incredible fun of traditional pantomime with a fresh twist that made the acclaimed Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Aladdin such huge, runaway successes.

Liverpool’s John O’ Connell Brings His Simply Dylan Show To The Epstein Theatre As Part Of U.K. Tour.

Liverpool based artist John O’Connell will be taking Simply Dylan – his personal exploration and celebration of the rich and diverse work of Bob Dylan along with band across the U.K. for the very first time and performing at the Epstein Theatre in Liverpool on November 6th.

Simply Dylan is as straightforward as the title suggests; no frills, no gimmicks, no pretense. However this is no ordinary interpretation of Bob Dylan, this is a remarkable and exceptional project which promises to delight Dylan fans young and old and to ignite a new wave of passion for one of the world’s most prodigious songwriters.

Paloma Faith To Return To Liverpool in 2015 As Part Of Arena Tour.

The incredible Paloma Faith has announced a U.K. arena tour for March 2015. Her current U.K. tour dates (starting in November) are completely sold out. The March tour, which begins in Brighton on March 12th, will come to Liverpool’s Echo Arena on March 24th before finishing at London’s o2 Arena on March 25th.Paloma’s current album A Perfect Contradiction has been one of the huge success stories of the year, recently being certified platinum. A new edition of the album will be released on November 3rd, which features five new tracks, including the fantastic new single Ready For The Good Life, available from November 2nd.

A Dream Of Wilfred Owen, Great War Poet, For One Night Only At St. George’s Hall.

A play about the extraordinary life of Great War poet Wilfred Owen will be performed next month at St. George’s Hall, Liverpool. A Dream Of Wilfred Owen by David Charters will be staged in the Concert Room of the iconic landmark building on Friday, 17 October, starting at 7.30pm.

Known as the soldiers’ poet, the story will be told from the perspective of Wilfred’s ghost who will take the audience on a journey back to the time of World War One. The story follows real and imagined events in Owen’s life, from growing up in Birkenhead where his father, Tom, was master of the busy Woodside railway station, to his own war experiences in the trenches.
