Northern Outlet Theatre Company To Bring Two Plays To The Lantern Theatre.

Northern Outlet Theatre Company is pleased to announce their forthcoming double-bill which will be touring fringe venues in Carlisle, Liverpool and Manchester this November.

John And Mark is a new play by George Gunby about a musical legend and his killer. Set in the cell of a New York maximum security prison, the play sees prisoner Mark David Chapman visited by John Lennon; the man he shot dead years earlier outside the Dakota building.  Within the confines of a prison cell the play offers an insight into the mind of the man who started off a fan and became a fanatic. Touching on issues of love, loss, faith and obsession, the play gives Lennon the opportunity to ask the question that has riddled millions of people across the world since December 8th 1980.

Gary Edward Jones Takes The Cabinet Maker To St. George’s Hall.

Following in the footsteps of Liverpool’s greatest musicians, Gary Edward Jones, the craftsman with a passion for music is taking the city by storm and introduces his carefully crafted debut album.

After sold out gigs throughout Merseyside, Chester and The Midlands, Gary Edward Jones launches his forthcoming album, The Cabinet Maker, at the city’s historic Concert Room at St. George’s Hall on Saturday 15th November.

The Cabinet Maker is a biographical album, honest, heart-felt and emotionally charged, filled with soaring melodies. Nine, well-crafted songs represent just a small part of Gary’s repertoire. The Cabinet Maker reflects the experiences from his life and the lives of those closest to him. Following folk’s tradition of telling personal tales, which tap into humanity’s shared experiences.

Jimmy Osmond To Star In Hit Musical Copacabana At The St. Helens Theatre Royal.

Barry Manilow’s hit musical Copacabana heads for St. Helens Theatre Royal in February 2015 – with Jimmy Osmond joining the cast to start the 2015 leg of the U.K tour.

The new production opens in St. Helens on the 2nd February as it embarks on a tour of the U.K, with eight performances at the Theatre Royal over six days. These will be Jimmy’s first dates as part of the Copacabana cast.  Jimmy Osmond will play the role of Sam Silver, he will be joined by Jon Lee as Tony Starr, and introducing Jennifer Harding as Lola.

Catfish And The Bottlemen To Perform At The Newly Re-opened University Of Liverpool’s Guild Of Students Building.

Catfish And The Bottlemen have announced a run of U.K. and Ireland headline tour dates for 2015, beginning at Leeds 02 Academy on March 23rd and ending at Dublin Whelan’s on April 8. The ten new dates will flank the previously announced shows at London O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on March 31st and April 1st and will also see the band perform at the newly refurbished University Guild of Students on April 5th. Tickets for the new shows go on sale Friday 3rd October at 9am.

Altru Young Actors Company Bring Acclaimed Play, Missing? To The Bluecoat.

This autumn Altru Young Actors Company bring their acclaimed performance Missing? to Liverpool’s Bluecoat following a successful premier at the National Festival of Youth Theatre in Fife.  The company of young actors, aged 16 – 21, have all been members of Altru Youth Theatre groups, and have come together to create this innovative new piece of theatre which explores what happens when someone goes missing.

One-woman show The Rise and Fall of a Northern Star comes to Lantern Theatre Liverpool on 31st October

Written and performed by Stella Grundy, former front woman of Manchester band Intastella, the show offers a real-insight into the music industry.

Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll – Tracy Star wanted it all! The Rise and Fall of a Northern Star is the cautionary tale of a rock and roll wannabe. Seeking to escape the drudgery of her day-to-day life in 1980s Manchester, she sought to make something of herself in the burgeoning male dominated Madchester music scene.

Inspired by The Elves and the Shoemaker Maison Foo entice audiences to join them on a darkly comic and shameless shopping experience like no other, that treads that fine line between greed and necessity, raising the question ‘how far will we go to make ourselves happy?’ This desperate tale of slavery and greed, told with humour, intimacy and charm uses an inventive blend of storytelling, live music, clowning and puppetry to seek the answer. The show is coming to Liverpool’s Unity Theatre on Thursday 30th October at 8pm.

Echo & The Bunnymen Return To The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall In February 2015.

Echo & The Bunnymen have announced new tour dates which will see them tour across the U.K. this winter before returning to Liverpool for a hometown show on February 20th at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. .

This June saw Echo & The Bunnymen release their twelfth studio album; Meteorites, their first studio record in five years to worldwide critical acclaim. Meteorites contains ten new songs written by front man Ian McCulloch and performed with fellow original band-member Will Sergeant on guitar and was produced by Youth, who has in the past produced The Verve, Shack and The Orb.

Eric And Little Ern To Bring Sunshine To The Epstein Theatre, Liverpool This October.

Following two acclaimed runs at Edinburgh Festival, two National tours and a West End season this brilliantly funny Olivier-nominated homage to the double act Morecambe and Wise comes to the Epstein Theatre, Liverpool on 10th and 11th October.

The production vividly brings back the warm memories of a bygone era, recreating some of the finest moments of Eric and Ernie’s television and stage performances through the use of classic sketches alongside new material devised by the show’s performers. Newly extended from its Edinburgh hour, the script explores the dynamic that made Morecambe and Wise one of Britain’s most enduringly popular double acts.
