Lovehistory’s Popular Catacomb Tours Return For 2015.

Liverpool’s St George’s Hall have announced the return of the popular Catacombs Tours from Monday 16th – Saturday 21st March, exploring the darker heart of Liverpool’s most celebrated and historic building. The theatrical events sent chills down the spine of thousands of people who attended the two runs of tours last year. Tickets are now on sale and should sell fast.

Theatrical company Lovehistory Ltd. are set to return with a whole host of actors portraying new characters and new stories from Liverpool’s murderous past. Experience The Catacombs of Liverpool’s Darkest History and peel back the layers of yesteryear to reveal what lies within the heart of St. George’s Hall’s dark past.

Full Casting Announced For 2015 Production Of Twopence To Cross The Mersey.

The full cast has been announced for the new stage play of Helen Forrester’s Twopence To Cross The Mersey, which tours four Merseyside theatres in the Spring.

The play will visit Liverpool, Southport, St.Helens and New Brighton between 10th March and 23rd April.

The eight-strong cast – a number of whom will play dual roles in the production – features a number of well known and popular Liverpool actors.

The tour opens with a three-week run at the Epstein Theatre Liverpool (10th to 28th March), followed by visits to Southport Theatre (9th to 11th April) and St Helens Theatre Royal (14th to 16th April), and ends with a trip across the River Mersey to the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton (19th to 23rd April).

Mike Yeaman’s Canoeing For Beginners To Come To The Royal Court Theatre.

Royal Court Liverpool are starting 2015 with a great new comedy – Canoeing For Beginners by Mike Yeaman!

The show is based around the story of a man who fakes his own death by getting into a canoe and paddling out of Crosby Marina. His wife is ready to claim the insurance money but she needs to keep her nerve as the police and their two grown up children are sticking their oar in!

The story may sound familiar but any similarities to persons living or pretending to be dead are entirely coincidental.

Haylo Theatre Company Bring Their New Production To The Unity Theatre.

Follow the story of Annabelle and her grandmother Dolly and their heartfelt, amusing and often frustrating journey as they come to terms with the onset of Dolly’s dementia in Over The Garden Fence. Through this poignant narrative we examine the memories which have shaped Dolly’s life and had an important impact on those around her. It is a fast paced, uplifting and comical exploration into family, life and relationships that promotes an awareness of dementia that is accessible to all.

YEP Graduate Lewis Bray to Bring His One Man Play Cartoonopolis To The Playhouse Studio.

Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) graduate Lewis Bray will make his professional debut in the Playhouse Studio this spring in a one-man play. Cartoonopolis is about the imaginary cartoon world created by his autistic brother Jack and what happens when the real world collides with make-believe in this funny and touching portrayal of family life. The play is the first commission from the E&P Ignition Project, which supports new talent in the industry. Cartoonopolis runs from Thursday 5th to Saturday 14th February.

Cartoonopolis is a funny and touching portrait of family life. Based on real events, it gives an insight into the world of Lewis’ brother, Jack, who is a young man with severe autism, and their parents.

The Epstein Theatre To Host Rumer As Part Of National Tour.

Following an exceptional 2014 for the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Rumer will reach out to the Epstein Theatre on Friday 20th February for one night only as part of her eleven date headline tour of the U.K.

Rumer’s new U.K. Top 10 studio album and Radio 2 Album of the Week, Into Colour, is receiving wide-spread critical acclaim and had recent sell-out shows at the Lowry Quays Theatre in Salford and Islington Assembly Hall in London. Rumer will release a new single, the sensual and soft-lit Reach Out on January 14th.

The Playhouse Theatre Marks 35th Anniversary Of Educating Rita In New Season.

A major revival of Willy Russell’s Educating Rita will open the Playhouse’s 2015 Spring Season. The production, directed by Everyman & Playhouse Artistic Director Gemma Bodinetz, will mark the play’s 35th anniversary. Rita will be played by Leanne Best who can be seen in the forthcoming series of Fortitude (Sky Atlantic), The Outcast (B.B.C.) and Home Fires (I.T.V.) and Frank will be played by Con O’Neill who stars in Channel 4’s Cucumber and Banana and the B.B.C.’s Uncle. The production runs at the Williamson Square venue from Friday 6th February to Saturday 7th March.

The Levellers Introduce Liverpool To A Curious Life In March.

Described by the legendary John Robb as, “The brilliant and heart-warming tale of a dysfunctional band”, ‘A Curious Life’ is a film about the Levellers and their unique career and fans in Liverpool will be able to see this film at the Philharmonic Hall on March 6th as part of a nationwide tour.

Told through the unique perspective of Jeremy Cunningham, the band’s bass player and artist, and directed by former Chumbawamba frontman Dunstan Bruce, the film focuses on the Levellers’ phenomenal success between 1988 and 1998 before nearly disintegrating in a train wreck of drink, drugs and creative drought.

Grin Theatre Brings More Voices To 81 Renshaw Street.

Grin Theatre’s objective has always been to entertain and enthral but also educate, harness and showcase new talent, especially when it comes to their much loved nights of monologues in the form of Voices. The first of the 2015 evenings comes in the form of the intriguing title of Winterland, which is on at 81 Renshaw Street on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th January from 7pm.

Featuring six brand new monologues from local writers, including Kiefer Williams, Sarah Lowes, Ian Salmon, Brian Wharton and directed by Sam Erskine and produced by Chris Sutherland, the wonderfully cosy setting of 81 Renshaw Street offers an evening of sparkling dramatic monologues that will surely delight every fan of theatre.

Little Atom Productions are delighted to announce that acting and entertainment legend Ricky Tomlinson is the next special guest in the hugely popular In Conversation live interview series of events.

In Conversation With Ricky Tomlinson takes place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 4th March at St George’s Hall Liverpool, and Ricky is the twelfth guest in the special series.

The event will take place in the venue’s stunning Concert Room. Fans will hear all about Ricky’s life and hear his choice of music, performed live on the night by a number of specially chosen performers.
