The Hit Musical, Mam! I’m ‘Ere’! Returns To The Liverpool Stage This Summer.

2012’s smash-hit disco musical, MAM! I’M ‘ERE!, is back this Summer in an exciting co-production between Life in Theatre Productions (The Sunshine Boys, A Life in the Theatre, The Last 5 Years) and The Royal Court Liverpool and will take place between Friday 26th June to Saturday 1st August 2015.

The Royal Court Theatre are pleased to announce the return of the original cast, including Andrew Schofield, Alan Stocks, Paul Duckworth, Keddy Sutton, Eithne Browne, and Rachel Rae. They will be joined by recent Scouse of The Antarctic cast members, Helen Carter (also in the original production) and Michael Fletcher. Michael replaces his brother, Stephen Fletcher, who now directs the production.

Diversity Placed Centre Stage In New Version Of Blood Wedding At The Everyman Theatre.

Performed by a cast of Deaf and disabled actors and non-disabled actors, an exciting and dramatic retelling of Federico Garcia Lorca’s Blood Wedding will be staged at the Everyman, breathing new life into this classic play. Co-produced by Graeae Theatre Company, Derby Theatre and Dundee Rep Ensemble, Blood Wedding runs from Tuesday 21st April until Saturday 25th April.

Graeae’s Artistic Director Jenny Sealey, who previously directed the London 2012 Paralympic Opening Ceremony, directs David Ireland’s modern day retelling of Blood Wedding, which is fuelled by searing lust, love and rebellion. When young lovers are overrun with passion and defy their families, the consequences are fatally heartbreaking as a wedding party turns sour and two families are torn apart.

BurntOut Theatre Bring Muscovado To The Lantern Theatre On April 30th.

Muscovado is BurntOut Theatre’s scorching new play about slavery in Nineteenth Century Barbados, written by emerging playwright Royal Court alumnus Matilda Ibini. A heady mix of sexual intrigue, piercing choral music and extreme racial tension, Muscovado provides an unflinching portrayal of life on a sugar plantation in 1808, accompanied by original music and atmospheric soundscape performed live by the cast.

Muscovado will be performed at The Lantern Theatre, Liverpool on 30th April. The performances are part of a tour visiting 15 cities around the U.K. with links to the transatlantic slave trade, including Hull, Bristol and Leeds; theatres and site-specific venues to include Stoke Damerel Church Plymouth and Danson House, Kent as well as Brighton Fringe Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The Music Of The Beatles Returns To Liverpool In The Hit Stage Show Let It Be.

Tickets for the International hit show that celebrates the music of The Beatles are now on sale in their hometown of Liverpool. Direct from London’s West End, LET IT BE will officially re-launch the multi-million pound refurbishment of the Royal Court Theatre and run for 5½ weeks from Thursday 8 October – Saturday 14 November 2015. The dates also coincides with John Lennon’s 75th birthday on Friday 9th October, the first year with a switch in focus to celebrate his life and musical contribution.

Tom Paxton Returns To The U.K. With A Special Night At The Philharmonic Hall As Part Of The Tour.

50 years on from his first U.K. tour in 1965, U.S. folk music legend Tom Paxton returns to the U.K. and Ireland in May 2015 to perform seventeen shows.

This tour will also mark the release of his studio album Redemption Road released on 13th April 2015. The five decades in between has seen the recording of many enduring songs, and thousands of live performances around the world, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 2009. The tour, which starts on May 8th at the Londonderry Millennium Forum and which will visit venues in cities and towns such as Birmingham, Gateshead, Poole and Salford, will come to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on May 18th.

Liverpool Playhouse To Stage World Première Of Coen Brothers’ The Hudsucker Proxy.

This summer Liverpool Playhouse stage the world première of The Hudsucker Proxy, a new stage adaptation of the classic 1994 film written by Ethan Coen, Joel Coen and Sam Raimi. The play is co-produced with Southampton’s Nuffield and internationally acclaimed theatre company Complicite. The play runs at the Williamson Square venue from Wednesday 3rd to Saturday 27th June.

The cast is headed up by Joseph Timms (Privates on Parade, Noel Coward; Twelfth Night and Richard III, Belasco Theatre NYC; Bracken Moor, Tricycle Theatre, Atlantis, B.B.C.1) as Norville Barnes, the unexpected hero who finds himself at the top of Hudsucker Industries.

Liverpool Pride To Return For Sixth Consecutive Year On August 1st.

Liverpool Pride organisers are delighted to announce that one of the city’s most popular events will return on Saturday, 1st August 2015.

Established in 2010, Liverpool Pride returns for its sixth consecutive year and continues to be one of the city’s most visual and flamboyant events of the Summer.

The date always coincides with the anniversary of when murdered gay teenager Michael Causer tragically lost his life. Michael died on 2nd August 2008, and the festival was specifically created in his memory as a way to celebrate his life and empower the LGBT communities. This year’s Liverpool Pride takes place a week before what would have also been Michael’s 26th birthday.

Liverpool’s Celebrated Musician, John O’ Connell, To Bring Bob Dylan’s Work To The Epstein Theatre.

Following his debut nationwide tour last year; Liverpool based artist John O’Connell will be taking Simply Dylan – his personal exploration and celebration of the rich and diverse work of Bob Dylan on the road this September and October. The tour, which starts on Wednesday 16th September at the Sage 2 in Gateshead, comes to Liverpool for the grand finale of the tour on October 2nd at the Epstein Theatre.

Squeeze To Perform At The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall This October.

Squeeze, the enduring British pop act whose songs have tenderly and wittily chronicled life and love stretching across four decades, are to play an extensive U.K. tour in the autumn – their first, as a band, for three years. As well as a vast catalogue including hits such as Cools For Cats, Up The Junction and Tempted, it will include songs from forthcoming album From The Cradle To The Grave, which marks their first collection of new tracks since 1998.

Tmesis Theatre And Physical Fest Return To Liverpool This May.

Liverpool’s Tmesis Theatre and Physical Fest are back for 2015 with a line up set to be bigger and better than ever. This year’s festival runs between Friday 22nd – Saturday 30th May 2015, and for those who cannot wait that long there is a special festival warm up weekend for young people with Young Physical Fest on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May.

As always, Tmesis Theatre will be bringing the very best and most established artists from all corners of the globe, with companies from Italy and Spain joining the U.K. performers for a truly international Physical Fest.
