David Hasselhoff To Star In Last Night A DJ Saved My Life At The Empire Theatre.

The iconic David Hasselhoff is to tour more than 20 theatres and arenas across the U.K. with the brand new musical Last Night a DJ Saved My Life.

The explosive new production opens with a World Premiere at the Blackpool Opera House on 16th October 2015 ahead of a major U.K. tour which will see The Hoff play 68 nights at more than 20 venues over a 13-week tour between October 2015 and February 2016. The production will also come to Liverpool’s Empire Theatre from the 19th to the 23rd January 2016.

Sketch duo Liam Hale and Sean Stoakes (AKA Jim Alsbalstian’s Human Zoo) present a visual feast of dark and surreal Sketch Comedy. With one half of the duo kidnapped and forced to perform against his will, this show is part sketch comedy part hostage situation.

After last year’s Play With Myself: The Trials and Tribulations of Drama Practitioner Gregory Bike (★★★★ – Liverpool Sound and Vision) Liam Hale and Sean Stoakes prepare to bring a sinister cavalcade of failed writers, drone bombers, unwanted dance numbers and a supposedly mythical Sasquatch to the Edinburgh Fringe and before it as 81 Renshaw Street throws opens its doors for a special Liverpool show on July 9th.

Lesley Joseph To Star In New Production Of Annie At The Empire Theatre Next March.

Michael Harrison and David Ian are delighted to announce a brand new production of the musical Annie starring Lesley Joseph as Miss Hannigan. Annie will play at the Liverpool Empire Theatre from the 7th – 12th March 2016.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. Determined to find her real parents; her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search.

Alexandra Burke To Star As Rachel Marron In The Bodyguard At The Liverpool Empire Theatre.

 

Following her sell-out run at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End, producers Michael Harrison and David Ian are delighted to announce that three-time Brit nominee and X-Factor winner, Alexandra Burke, will star in the leading role of ‘Rachel Marron’ in the forthcoming U.K. and Ireland tour of Thea Sharrock’s hit musical The Bodyguard, which plays at the Liverpool Empire from the 26th April – 7th May 2016.

Alexandra Burke said, “I couldn’t be happier to be joining the tour and I’m excited to get started. Being on the theatre stage has brought me great happiness. It is an honour to have been asked to join the team and I look forward to creating new and long lasting memories with the cast.”

Legendary Reggee Artists The Wailers To Perform In Liverpool This November At The 02 Academy.

Following the success of their huge sell out U.K. tour last year, legendary reggae artists The Wailers will return to mark their highly celebrated and anticipated Legend tour. The band will be performing the iconic album live on stage in its entirety featuring the classic chart- topping tracks Three Little Birds, I Shot The Sheriff, Jamming and many more. Back with an extended run of dates, The Wailers will play twelve shows across some of the U.K.’s major cities including a night at the o2 Academy in Liverpool on Wednesday 25th November.

The Final Instalment Of The Mozart Legacy Matinee Series From The Resident Orchestra Of St. George’s Hall Comes This September.

The Concert Room in Liverpool’s iconic St George’s Hall will host Towards the Romantics on Sunday 13th September, the final part of a series of three classical concerts by St George’s Hall’s orchestra-in-residence, L’Orchestra dell’Arte.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has been the central pillar of all three concerts, Towards the Romantics brings the series to a sensational close and will show how Mozart’s legacy was passed on to forthcoming generations, those who took the musical baton from Mozart and developed his classical style and pushed boundaries towards the newer Romantic style. The main work in the final concert is the Symphony No 7 by Beethoven.

Jools Holland To Bring A Night Of Music To The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall This July.

As the U.K.’s most popular pianist and bandleader, Jools Holland O.B.E. has performed and recorded with some of the most talented musicians and songwriters in the world, including Eric Clapton, the late George Harrison and Luther Vandross, Sting, BB King and Paul Weller. His tour, which includes a night at the Liverpool Philharmonic on Monday 27th July, starts on the 19th July at the Coventry Warwick Arts Centre and visits Preston’s Guild Hall on Friday 24th.

Jools is respected not only as a performer, but also an authority on all music. His B.B.C. 2 Live music show, Later… with Jools Holland, has now broadcast over 250 episodes featuring artists from all time periods, countries, and genres!

Liverpool Loves Live Music This Summer At The Pier Head.

Stephen Langstaff, Polar States, Natalie McCool, Gary Edward Jones and Chelcee Grimes are among the Liverpool acts performing during the inaugural three-day Liverpool Loves festival in August. Liverpool Loves New Music is an integral part of Festival Day on Saturday 8th August at the iconic location of Pier Head Liverpool on the city’s waterfront. Festival Day is free to attend and will run from 10am to 10pm – a full 12 hours of culture, entertainment and activities on the banks of the River Mersey.

The Rocky Horror Show Returns To Liverpool in 2016.

Since its first appearance at the Royal Court Theatre in June 1973, Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show has become the world’s favourite Rock N’ Roll musical. It has been performed worldwide for over 40 years in over 30 countries and has been translated into more than 20 languages. Director Christopher Luscombe created a stunning new production to celebrate the 40th Anniversary and this critically acclaimed version of the classic show is back by popular demand, now embarking on a year-long national adventure and will play the Liverpool Empire from 1st to 6th February 2016.

Shiny New Festival Returns To Lantern Theatre Liverpool For Its fourth year!

Lantern Theatre Liverpool is playing host to its annual pre Edinburgh theatre event Shiny New Festival for the fourth year this July. From 27th July – 2nd August audiences will be treated to three shows per night from the North West’s top fringe talents. The festival, founded in 2012 by Shiny New Director Pete Mitchelson in association with the Lantern has gone from strength to strength in the past four years and this year’s line up is not to be missed. With an eclectic mix of performances from new writing to buffoon clowning there is something for everyone at Shiny New Festival.
