The Everyman & Playhouse has announced casting for this year’s Playhouse Christmas production of Miracle on 34th Street: The Musical.

A seasonal Christmas treat for the whole family, Miracle on 34th Street is a classic tale celebrating the joy of the Christmas season, with songs including It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.

Bringing festive cheer to the city, Tim Parker plays the iconic department store Father Christmas Kris Kringle in the musical. Tim has performed in West End productions of Billy Elliott and Lord of the Rings, as well as touring with Ferry Across the Mersey.

Celebrating The Beatles In Drama, As Ticket To Write Returns For June 2020.

The Make it Write team is joining Ticket to Write to stage four new 30-minute plays about Liverpool’s Fab Four next year.

The plays will be chosen by independent judges and Make it Write will chose a director and bring together a team of actors and stage crew to perform those chosen at Hope Street Theatre in June 2020.

As usual the plays can feature any aspect of The Beatles – their music, work or lives. They can even be inspired by a song. The work must be original unperformed work with simple technical requirements”, said producer Jamie Gaskin, who created the original Festival in 2012.

Celebrated Threshold Festival Of Music And Arts Announces Tenth And Final Annual Event.

Once More with Feeling…

Organisers of Liverpool’s Threshold Festival have announced their 2020 dates, marking a decade of yearly events and their final outing. Taking place on April 3rd and 4th in venues across the Baltic Triangle district of the city, the swan song of Threshold will be a forward-thinking celebration that aims to leave an open-ended question and place the baton in the hands of the community it has served.

The festival launched in 2011 as a platform for grass-roots music and arts in the city, region and further afield, and has grown up with the emerging Baltic Triangle. In its 10-year history the festival has seen formative performances from Liverpool success stories such as Stealing Sheep, All We Are, Chelsea Grimes and Queen Zee.

A Month Of Action-Packed Entertainment This November At The Epstein Theatre.

This November The Epstein Theatre has action-packed live entertainment with a fantastic selection of live music, entertainment, comedy, family shows and musical theatre. Highlights include The Alarm’s 30th anniversary tour, The Totally Football Show Live, The Wilderland Film Festival and The Scummy Mummies Show.

The month kicks off with the final performances of acclaimed psychological thriller Blood Runs Deep, presented by Break A Leg Productions in association with Bill Elms and starring Blue singer and actor Antony Costa, which runs Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November.

It’s a tour that he’s all set to continue into 2020 with another 35 dates that has him on the road until Spring. Not only that but a 60th Anniversary limited edition box set is about to hit the streets too. Does the man never stop?

Joe Brown does what it says on the tin. What you see is what you get -a cheeky smile, a spikey haircut, a bloke who is definitely a survivor. He’s passed through more genres and vagaries of the music industry than you can shake a stick at. Steve Hackett To Sell England By The Pound At The Philharmonic Hall This November.

For the first time ever, Steve will perform the seminal Genesis album Selling England By The Pound in its entirety. Released in 1973, the album went to No. 3 in the U.K. charts and has been described as “the definitive Genesis album.” It includes firm favourites such as Dancing with the Moonlit Knight, Firth of Fifth, Cinema Show and, of course, I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe). Other favourite classic Genesis tracks will also feature in the show.

2019 also marks the 40th anniversary of one of Steve’s most popular solo albums Spectral Mornings and Steve will rightly celebrate this milestone by performing masterpieces from the album.

Comedy Sensation Maisie Adam Comes To Liverpool’s Royal Court Studio In 2020.

Following her Best Newcomer-nominated debut, the winner of Amused Moose National New Comic 2018 and So You Think You’re Funny? 2017, Maisie Adam will come to Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre with a show that asks why we are so obsessed with blame?

Following a year of television appearances including 8 out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week, Maisie embarks on her first tour of Europe and the U.K., a tour which will see the comedian perform on February 5th inside the Liverpool theatre.

The North West Premiere Of A Christmas Carol-The Musical Is Coming To The Royal Court Theatre This November.

Based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel of the same name, the yuletide musical follows the well-known story of Ebenezer Scrooge, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future – and of course not forgetting poor Tiny Tim.

A Christmas Carol – The Musical is being staged for five performances only, from 7th to 10th November, and will include two afternoon shows over the weekend dates.

Director Karen Partington said, Our 70 strong cast, including 20 local children, will be bringing this traditional festive tale to life in spectacular fashion. We’re excited to be using the theatre’s unique 9m revolving stage, and combined with our live band, big dance numbers and colourful costumes, the show promises to be a magical night out for all the family.”
