Katie Melua Announces 2020 U.K. Tour Dates, Including A Night At The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

New Live In Concert Double Album Set For Release On December 15th.

Multiple award-winning recording artist Katie Melua has announced an extensive 45-date headline 2020 tour, including 18 U.K. & Eire dates, which will also see the musician come to Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall as part of the tour on Tuesday 3rd November. Tickets for the tour will go on general sale on Friday 22nd November 2019 at 10am GMT.

The U.K. leg of the tour, which will start on October 30th at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall, will call at venues in Manchester, York, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Oxford as well as Liverpool.

Everyman & Playhouse Announce Full Spring/Summer 2020 Season.

The first wave of casting has been announced for Jonathan Harvey’s Our Lady of Blundellsands, as the Everyman & Playhouse announce their full 2020 spring/summer season filled with new works, big titles, family fun and re-imagined stories.

The Liverpool-born Coronation Street writer initially debuted the script for Our Lady of Blundellsands at a play reading at the Everyman in 2016. Having worked with Everyman creatives to finely tune the script especially for the Everyman stage, the hilariously twisted comic drama makes its premiere from 6th-28th March.

Liverpool’s L.K.H. Youth Theatre To Hold Auditions For Addams Family: The Musical This November.

One of Liverpool’s leading youth theatre companies is looking for the stars of their production of Addams Family: The Musical.

Male and female performers, aged 6-19, are invited to attend the open auditions which will be held at 11am on Sunday 17th November at The Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, Liverpool.  Auditions do not need to be pre-booked as registration will take place on the day.

L.H.K. Productions Managing Director, Lee Kelly said, “The Addams Family was created over 80 years ago and yet it’s still hugely popular.  This will be the first time we’ve produced this particular show and I’m especially looking forward to finding the main characters of our mysterious and spooky family; Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday and Pugsley.

Clapperboard UK’s Director Maureen Sinclair is delighted to announce the 10th anniversary celebration screening of Nowhere Boy, with acclaimed BAFTA nominated screenwriter, Matt Greenhalgh (Clocking Off, Control, Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool) and Liverpool actor Josh Bolt (Nowhere Boy, Last Tango in Halifax, Catch 22).

They will be joined by other cast and crew members, who will be supporting and attending the very special event on Thursday 5th December, 6pm at Picture House At FACT.  Followed by an exclusive Q+A with Matt Greenhalgh and Josh Bolt.

The Levellers Return To Liverpool In 2020 As Part Of U.K. And European Tour.

After their incredible performance at the London Palladium last month, the Levellers have now announced U.K. and European tour dates for 2020, including a night at Liverpool’s Grand Central on 1st March.

Still going strong after 30 years in the game, they have long been, and still are, one of the best live bands around and they will be returning next year with a new studio album, alongside an extensive tour taking in double nights at some of their favourite towns and cities.

Brand New Playwrighting Development Programme Starts In January At Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre.

Liverpool’s Royal Court is continuing its search for new script writing talent with a brand- new Playwright Development Programme and they are looking for writers to take part.

Since November 2018, the theatre has been running the Stage Wright Nights in the Royal Court studio. These are nights where scripts can be submitted to be read by professional actors under the guidance of a professional director.

The Stage Write Nights have been the starting point for a number of studio and main house productions including: Masquerade, Pig, Knee Deep in Promises, My Fairfield Lady and Yellow Breck Road.

Rab Noakes And Brooks Williams On The Road Together At The Philharmonic Hall’s Music Room This November.

Folk legends Rab Noakes and Brooks Williams are coming together for a Scotland-USA Trans-Atlantic collaboration this November, at the Music Rooms in the Philharmonic Hall on the 24th of the month. The evening is fuelled by a shared passion for acoustic roots rock, hook-laden songwriter- pop, and folky Americana.

The duo met in Glasgow in 2018 when Rab sang backing vocals on Brooks’ Lucky Star recording. Shortly thereafter they got together to write songs and the plan to perform was hatched.

National Hero Alexei Sayle, Comes To Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre For Three Nights As Part Of 2020 Tour.

Following huge success with three series of his incredibly popular recent Radio 4 show Alexei Sayle’s Imaginary Sandwich Bar, alternative comedy legend Alexei Sayle has just announced he’ll be returning to stages across the U.K. in 2020 with his first stand-up tour in seven years.

Sayle’s brand-new show will span the U.K., including a three-night homecoming residency at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre (12th-14th March) and two nights at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre (6th-7th April).

Of his return to the stage, Alexei said, “This tour won’t be another arsehole comic talking about his girlfriend or the funny things his kids do or the funny things cats do or how he doesn’t understand the internet or bleeding Brexit – This is ALEXEI F*****G SAYLE you’ll be seeing.”
