First Acts Revealed For Krewe Liverpool 2020: The Mardi Gras Experience.

The jewel of Sefton Park and an iconic Victorian Glasshouse, The Sefton Park Palm House will be host to Krewe Liverpool 2010 on February 7th 2020: a surreal masquerade ball with music, dance, costume and carnival, housed in Sefton Park’s magnificent building.

The experience is delighted to welcome Frog & Henry who play old dance music from New Orleans; party music from 100 years ago. Beginning as a street performing collective in 2013 on the streets of the Big Easy/Crescent City, the band is a truly international affair, with almost as many nationalities represented as members. The band boasts a reinvention of the worlds one and only unique foot operated Tuba Machine- which allows one person to play tuba and banjo simultaneously! See it played live at this surreal masquerade.

Multi Award-Winning New Shows At The Heart Of Liverpool’s Unity Theatre Autumn 2019 Calendar.

Opening Unity’s 2019 Autumn season is Lost Boys on 4th – 11th September from National Youth Theatre; a timely take on life in northern towns from nationally-acclaimed Formby playwright Luke Barnes. Prepare for a healthy dose of provocation, laughter and witty comment on disability with Still No Idea from Bunny on 13th – 14th September.

Two years after officially marking a decade since the release of Scouting For Girls’ unstoppable million-selling eponymous self-titled debut album, the band are excited to announce the release of a brand new album The Trouble With Boys, consisting of unmistakable pop anthems set to have fans all over the world singing along in unison – set for release September 20th through Sony Music.

The first single from the upbeat, fun and infectious new album is the satisfyingly catchy summer anthem Grown Up, which has now been released.

Make Love Your Goal This Summer As Masquerade Comes To The Liverpool Royal Court Studio.

This summer’s big show at Liverpool’s Royal Court Studio starts next week and it will take you right back to the 80s.

Masquerade is the story of two lads in 1980s Liverpool who are finding out who they really are. Set in one of Liverpool’s most famous gay clubs it is a beautiful story about one man’s search for a place to be accepted.

The Court didn’t have to look far for this play as it was written by Laura Lees who works in the Box Office there. Based on the experiences of her uncle, the script was developed through the theatre’s programme that promotes new writing – Stage Write.

World-Renowned Bluesman, Son Of Dave, Heads To The Wirral This Autumn.

Performing at the atmospheric West Kirby Arts Centre on 11th October 2019, Son of Dave’s unique style of beatbox grooves, harmonica playing, foot stomping and infectious songs, will be sure to deliver a fantastic night of music.

Son of Dave hails from Winnipeg, Canada and has been based out of London for over twenty years. He’s toured all over Europe and North America as well as performing in countries such as Uganda, South Africa, Lebanon and Russia.

Star-Studded Cast Revealed For Cabaret At Chester’s Storyhouse This Autumn.

Bill Kenwright presents Rufus Norris’ multi award-winning production of Kander and Ebb’s landmark musical Cabaret, which embarks on an extensive 2019 U.K. tour, including dates at Storyhouse in Chester this Autumn.

The cast will feature John Partridge as the enigmatic Emcee, alongside Kara Lily Hayworth as Sally Bowles, and Anita Harris as Fraulein Schneider.

Cabaret comes to Storyhouse from Tuesday 24th September to Saturday 28th September 2019. Tickets are on sale now.

Directed by critically acclaimed Rufus Norris (Director of The National Theatre) and featuring the Olivier Award Winning Choreography by Javier De Frutos, the production has enjoyed two smash hit West End runs at The Lyric and The Savoy theatres.

The Life Of Cynthia Lennon Comes To Liverpool This August As This Girl Visits The Hope Street Theatre.

An exciting new production about the life of Cynthia Lennon will be showcased at The Hope Street Theatre in Liverpool during International Beatles Week, between 21st and 26th August 2019.

This Girl tells the true story of Cynthia Powell – a shy student from Hoylake who fell in love with a young musician called John when they met at Liverpool Art College in 1957. She became Cynthia Lennon, his wife, and mother of their son, Julian.

Brazilica organiser Liverpool Carnival Company is delighted to announce the return of its popular Film Festival for 2019, bringing the very best of Brazilian cinema to venues across Liverpool.

Film buffs can enjoy 5 films celebrating Brazilian life and culture, which will be screened at various venues across the city from 18th – 30th July.

Brazilica Film Festival will begin at Metal on Thursday 18th July with the 2018 drama Rust. Two high-school students Tati and Renet share an instant connection over social media that deepens during a class trip. Rust explores the power and prevalence of social media and technology in the lives of a generation that has never known connection without it.

One Eyed Jacks was the band’s 2nd release on the major label Epic Records. For many original fans this is ‘the’ Spear of Destiny album.

Kirk Brandon has constantly held and spoken of his belief that this is a fine body of songs played by a fine bunch of musicians that was detrimentally interfered with by a record label that had no idea how to market the sound of Spear of Destiny at that time.
