Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *
The connection is clear, The Big Deal have returned to the shores of the melodic fans hearts and stimulated the pulse just as the new year has barely even begun to feel its way into listener’s conscious.
The question might be posed as to whether the sound will just be as thrilling, the vocals soaring, or if the enthusiasm for the venture can be found within as to allude to lightning striking twice. The Serbian masters of harmony have not only returned, but blasted the ball out of the park with the assistance of a jet powered dynamic that truly understands the feeling and belief of being Electrified.
The melodic hard rock sound that suited the Frontiers Records ethos so well has indeed seen the band send the spark of life down to Earth once more and in the second album with the label, Electrified, the motivation of The Big Deal cannot be questioned, for in the soaring vocals of Ana Nikolic and Nevena Brankovic the sense of heightened emotion is fiery, it is angelic, a case of a battle in the heavens framed by the human voice adding serenity and authority.
Srdjan Brankovic on guitar and bass, Marko Milojevic on drums, and Nikola Mijic on bass add the drama to the occasion and charge the listener with the reward of feeling their heart come alive, the occasional beat of the human strain to keep alive is pushed to understand what it is to live with the gift of galvanising the spirit.
As tracks such as Fairy Of White, the sincerity of Broken Wings, Don’t Talk About Love, and More Than A Man, stir the alchemic and the transformation of magic excels the attention rightly garnered by the release of First Bite, so its follow up installs the sense of the gregarious and the ferocity of music that is incendiary and fulsome in its delivery.
The Big Deal is just that, two albums in for Frontiers Music and with respect to all, they have the attitude and passion to elevate the genre across the eastern part of Europe and make waves in across the continent.
The Big Deal will release Electrified on January 17th via Frontiers Music SRL.
