The desire to prove the doubter wrong is an emotion that we must continue to nurture. Too often we have it unrestrainedly rammed down our throat that we cannot do something, that others have done it before so why must we do exactly the same, that we are only embarrassing ourselves, and that we shall surely fail in our endeavour; we must persist in proving people wrong, even if comes with alienating them, if it makes them angry…especially of it makes them outraged and indignant with rage.
In Your Face, the sweetness of justifying your actions, the delight in the revenge of success, three words that kick back against negativity and choleric, addictive behaviour, and a sentence of defending your honour when all around you is exercising vindictive, or even well-meaning, rhetoric.
Allehackbar return the public conscious with their enlightening and sincerely delivered new album, In Your Face, and it is one that derives comfort for the listener as they register their own frustrations in a world that has not just become overbearingly top heavy, but full of minds that are struggling with the disease of power, of acting above their intelligence, of giving into the want of authority and control of every aspect of someone else’s life.
Allehackbar’s Pille, Harry, and Jan are to be congratulated for the way that the crazy details of life lived by those with extreme tendencies is portrayed, the anger that dwells within us, and the need to perhaps take action with more than just a three worded outburst, and as tracks of gravel tones inflection and desire fill the once empty spaces, so the attention is drawn to the sheer scale of wrongs in the world.
From the opener of the album’s title track of In Your Face, and onwards through Religion, Beer Scotch Gras, Saturday Night, Friendship, Modern Slave, and Fuck The Haters, Allehackbar rock the joints of the disenchanted and take issue, the verbal smack in the face of the misplaced authority, and it is with pleasure that the sound is one that reverberates through bone, mass and conscious.
In Your Face, three small words that convey more heartfelt meaning than any clouded political speech, an album of muscle, flexed and ready to strike, in your face and never forget, that it is a right to prove people wrong.
