Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10
Whisper to the trees, tell your story to the winds, and don’t let the words fall on barren unsympathetic lands; but most of all if you have a tale to share or to resonate in harmony, then have the courage to Say It To The Sun and let the continually of the burning sky heed and spread your words, let the seeds of your truth be sown in a manner befitting the world at large.
Without the celestial bulb giving us a reason to wake up every day and thank whatever higher powers of human nature and thinking keep us safe, then we may as well live in the dark, and for some who growl instead of using tender words, it is the shroud of darkness they would rather see some with unnerving beauty in their mind, reside and away from the spotlight.
Jealousy is the ugliest of emotions, and when it is brought to light those that practise it never feel shame for their words, they just continue to howl at the Sun’s noiseless neighbour in our sky, the cold fragility of our moon being their guide rather than the beauty afforded in sunlight, bathed in the warmth of generous spirit.
It is in the generous spirit, and the sublime voice of Paul Holden, that the Sun helps the listener see the world the way it was meant to be seen, the ability to grow, to be seen in full flourish, and as with the lead single from the E.P., Help Me Anytime You Want, Paul Holden opens up to the elements and the listener in such a way that you cannot but help feel the heat of his performance and the ray of sunshine he provides as he measures his life out in a cascade of beauty, of fighting back against the ignorance that is still prevalent around the world.
Across the tracks Into Battle, When It’s All About Love, She’s A Storm, Without Warning, and the aforementioned song, Help Me Anytime You Want, Paul Holden delivers with gravitas, style, and groove, the lyrics are full of depth, the music unsurprisingly subtle and superb, and it is with great admiration of the entire package that the listener will feel the benefit of delving into the E.P., without any guilt, just plain enjoyment of hearing a voice of another giving their all and with dynamic appeal.
A great set of songs, Paul Holden’s Say It To The Sun is an opportunity to listen to another soul and take note.
Paul Holden releases Say It To The Sun is released on 19th August.
