Following her Best Newcomer-nominated debut, the winner of Amused Moose National New Comic 2018 and So You Think You’re Funny? 2017, Maisie Adam will come to Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre with a show that asks why we are so obsessed with blame?
Following a year of television appearances including 8 out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week, Maisie embarks on her first tour of Europe and the U.K., a tour which will see the comedian perform on February 5th inside the Liverpool theatre.
When Maisie was in Year 9, she googled herself on the school computer. The top result was a news story, and Maisie discovered she was part of something much bigger…something known, to everyone but her. At that tender age, this story was enough to lead Maisie to ask the question: why are we so quick to point the finger of blame, without knowing all the facts?
Maisie Adam’s second Edinburgh offering pivots on a jaw-dropping revelation that genuinely stuns the crowd. “It’s a coup de theatre that flips the entire tone of the hour.” chortles Maisie, a snowflake millennial shy of any responsibility, or is she holding a mirror up to our blame-hungry society? Before you decide, just Hang Fire a second!
Maisie Adam first tried stand-up comedy in 2016, in her native North Yorkshire. Months later, she applied for the U.K.’s largest stand-up competition: So You Think You’re Funny? Maisie won, becoming only the fourth woman to have done so in 30 years. Maisie returned to the Edinburgh Fringe the following year with her debut show Vague, which sold out the Gilded Balloon every day, received rave reviews and earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Now returning to the stage with her second show, Hang Fire, the audience will surely be gripped by the revelation and laugh along with this talented comedian.
Tickets for the show in the Royal Court Studio are priced at £12.
