This November, the debut show from Pique Niche Productions is coming to The Hope Street Theatre. Picture This showcases 3 brand new plays from Liverpool based writers. Each play is inspired by art: whether that be landscapes of the city’s inimitable waterfront or an abstract painting of a woman with an iguana for a necklace! The stories explore family life and relationships ranging from the romantic to the dysfunctional, and all told with a classic Scouse sense of humour.
Pique Niche Productions is a new Liverpool theatre company supporting new writing from the North. Pique Niche’s Artistic Director Donna M Day said, “It is this passion which drew me to Art for Our Sake by Alex May, the main feature of Picture This. Art for Our Sake is a Liverpool story set in two timelines, the late 1930s and now. The looming spectre of World War 2 pushes against 21st century problems of financial instability in a sweet comedy about modern art and the modern family.”
The three plays, which are all directed by Donna M. Day are Ferry Tales, written by Alex May, Almost Always written by Donna M. Day and Art For Our Sake by Alex May.
Performances are from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th November 2019 at The Hope Street Theatre, 22 Hope Street, Liverpool, L1 9BY.
Tickets are available now from the Ticketquarter and are priced at £8 and £10.
