The Herron Brothers release their new E.P., The Next Ones, on June the 1st, following on from last year’s debut album The Last Ones Left.
Paul and Steven are to embark upon an intimate acoustic U.K. tour to promote their latest work, performing a, “two voices, two acoustic guitars” show featuring the new songs and some old(er) favourites.
The tour, which will start in Chesham on June 1st, and which will take in venues in towns and cities such as Leeds, Derby, Sheffield and Berwick, will come to Liverpool’s 81 Renshaw Street on July 18th.
“We can’t wait to come back, we’ve played The Cavern Club, supported local hero Rob Vincent, and performed on Jenny Lee Summer’s B.B.C. radio show last year, but this is our first headliner in a city really close to our hearts” Says Steven.
“We’re HUGE Beatles fans, in fact my first ever “adult” holiday was in Liverpool” says Paul, “my girlfriend and I saved up and spent a week at The Beatles convention when we were seventeen, it was, dare I say it…gear!”
The Herron Brothers are Paul and Steven Herron, originally hailing from sunny north Northumberland. After the success of last year’s releases and tour, now is the perfect time to follow up with new material and a tour more than double the length of its predecessor.
Whilst in interviews and live shows a sense of fun and “what are they going to say next” tends to pervade the air, the songs themselves are marked throughout with a melancholy at perfect odds with the catchy melodies and seemingly carefree approach to performance.
Live highlights of the past two years include two glorious shows with 90s hanger-onners The BlueTones and Toploader, a headline appearance at Y-Not festival, and perhaps the ultimate Midlands accolade, turning on the Derby Christmas lights!
Tickets for the Herron Brothers at 81 Renshaw Street can be purchased from the venue.
