Mia Klose, Stronger. Album Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *

There will always be those that find ways to say nothing whilst all the time profiting from someone else’s drive, for in their habit lays not strength, but a kind of washed-out serving, a weakness of expression that implies growth but in actual fact is nothing more than the withering spectacle of a cactus which once supported a beautiful flower, but now creeps towards mulch as it finds no gardener to help it bloom.

Such awkward sentiment is not for Mia Klose, Stronger is a word of faith, of a bind that she has etched into her own popular skin as a reminder that she can, and will, succeed where others have even feared to tread. It would perhaps be trite, the epitome and fawning of the word, a over produced consent to the cliched, if anyone took on the word maturity with lightness when describing Ms. Klose’s work, for being stronger is a battle so few will ever witness someone being, the battles they have endured are kept silent, it takes bravery and steel to come out on the other side of any clash, the confrontation of art and the divided opinion, and come out, not only the victor, but with renewed vigour in your heart.

Anyone can be caught Living In A Fantasy, many over play their life to the point where the thought of being Stronger is in actual fact a well-acted shell, but as Mia Klose forges a realisation of truth and passion in her latest album, Stronger is a force of expression that punches out hard and swift, yet all the time with the grace of the velvet glove holding gently a delicate rose.

In songs such as Winning This Game, Gimme Gimme, One More Night, Living For Love and Time To Rock, Mia Klose arguably slams the door on the two year hiatus and moves forward with industry and depth attached to her music sheet of vengeance and positive drive.

A return that was always going to be inevitable, sometimes being strong is not enough, being bold, finding your own true voice again, that is the truth of being Stronger.

Mia Klose’s Stronger is out now.
