House of Suarez, the creative minds behind Liverpool’s multi-award winning and highly distinguished Vogue Ball, today announce the next step in their Vogue evolution with House of Suarez: Three-Day Bender coming to the city this October.
Expect a full weekend of glamour from Friday 19th – Sunday 21st October when film, fashion and fierce vogueing all combine as the dance company present a fabulous programme of events over a spectacular Three-Day Bender, in the first of its kind Vogue Festival.
Their most popular events including Elements of Vogue; The Vogue Ball; and Liverpool is Burning all form part of the line-up, as well as a fashion exhibition at Museum of Liverpool and a brand-new vogue documentary at FACT.
As with past Vogue Ball events, the Three-Day Bender will have a theme which organisers will be revealing very shortly.
Opening the festival on Friday 19th October is the annual dance event Elements of Vogue which celebrates the very best new and emerging vogue talent. Including local and national performers, as well as professional artists, the show fuses vogue, commercial and contemporary dance styles and will pave the way for the excitement of the whole weekend.
Not for the faint-hearted, Saturday 20th October is the main event with the return of the hugely hedonistic annual Vogue Ball, taking place at The Invisible Wind Factory.
An ingenious creation celebrating elaborate style and alternative cultures, audiences will be taken aback as they witness both veteran and brand new local, regional and international Houses come together for the ultimate battle in vogue supremacy.
As ever expect fantastical costumes, outrageous performances and technical excellence in vogue dance.
The night will be pulled together like a couture corset by the godmother of the ball, the one and only Rikki Beadle Blair, the master of ceremonies helping the crowds to raise the roof.
Keeping the party going until the early hours of Sunday morning, the official after-party Liverpool is Burning will commence directly after the Vogue Ball. Based on the iconic vogue film Paris is Burning, this fierce club night is free for all Vogue Ball ticket holders
Also forming part of the festival, House of Suarez is ecstatic to announce a brand-new avenue for its work with a stunning fashion exhibition, shown exclusively at the world class Museum of Liverpool.
Featuring a collection of some of the most creative and beautiful costume commissions to ever walk the runway at past Vogue Ball’s and feature in world premier dance performances, it forms part of the ongoing Tales from the City exhibition of Liverpool’s historic LGBT+ culture.
Closing the festival, House of Suarez will be presenting the Unlimited House of Krip documentary at FACT cinema on Sunday 21st October.
This documentary gives audiences an insight into the incredible journey, trials and tribulations experienced by House of Krip, a group of international deaf artists as they take part in their first House of Suarez Ball in 2017.
The screening will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with festival director Darren Suarez, who will talk about the work of the company and their aspirations for the future presented alongside live performances.
Darren Suarez, Artistic Director of House of Suarez, said, “I am incredibly excited to be announcing this brand-new chapter for House of Suarez. The Three-Day Bender will incorporate all the amazing aspects of Vogue
The Vogue Ball and Elements of Vogue have gained huge momentum over the last few years with the audience reaction being truly phenomenal, and 2018 promises to be even better! The fashion exhibition and documentary will aim to give audiences a further insight in to the creativity and work that goes on behind the scenes and the whole weekend promises to be a fierce Vogue extravaganza.
