Emerging comedy star Jon Pointing comes to Unity Theatre on Friday 22nd June – the performer’s only northern date of his 2018 Act Natural tour. The comic joins the ranks of world-famous comedians to have cut their teeth on the theatre’s stage, including superstar comedian, presenter and actor John Bishop. The actor is currently starring as Jason in I.T.V.2’s Plebs, and is the face of numerous television adverts from Weetabix to Virgin Games. His Act Natural show premiered at London’s Soho Theatre in 2017 and was named one of the best comedy shows of 2017 by The Guardian, and won Best Character Comedy Act at What’s On Stage Comedy Awards 2017.
In Act Natural, Jon takes the persona of Cayden Hunter, an actor, who will demonstrate the importance of selflessness and sharing through this one-man (none-participatory) workshop.
He is soon to appear in Nick Helm’s The Killing Machine for B.B.C. Comedy. He also stars in Pls Like which is nominated in the Short Form Programme category for a BAFTA 2018.
Jonathan has also enjoyed success as one half of double act Bucket, with sell-out runs at both the Edinburgh Fringe and London’s prestigious Soho Theatre. The duo went on to perform together in various episodes of @Elevenish on I.T.V. 2.
Tickets for Jon Pointing at The Unity Theatre on Friday 22nd June are priced at £15 and are available to purchase from the Unity Theatre Box office.
