Members of staff at the Playhouse claim to have seen a huge beast wandering through the corridors of the theatre and across Williamson Square.
Some even suggest the beast is linked to the mysterious death of Sir Charles Baskerville.
Playhouse bosses have reassured staff and the public by hiring a top private detective team to investigate the mystery.
Liverpool residents have been asked to remain calm, but are warned to be on the lookout for a hideous fanged beast near the Playhouse.
Employees at the famous Liverpool theatre have confirmed sightings of a terrifying hound-like creature wandering around the square, with some even suggesting they have spotted the monster in the building.
Theatre bosses have reassured staff and members of the public that there is nothing to worry about, however some are understandably concerned by the sightings.
One member of staff, who did not want to be named, said, “I was busy working in the main foyer when out of the corner of my eye I saw what looked like a hideous wolf walking through the Square. Its eyes were bright red and its fangs were the size of kitchen knives.”
Another, slightly fearful member of staff added, “THE HOUND IS HERE! NO ONE IS SAFE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
There are some suggestions that the beast could be linked to the disappearance of a rich landowner by the name of Sir Charles Baskerville, although reports are unconfirmed.
To allay any fears, the Playhouse has hired a top private detective and his associate to investigate the claims. The London-based organisation are renowned for their skills of deduction and for mysteriously funny adventures.
The pair are expected to reveal their findings throughout December, with the hope that the horrifying hound is discovered sooner rather than later.
A spokesperson for the Playhouse said, “We are absolutely 100% sure that the Baskerville hound has not been spotted wandering our halls or walking through Williamson Square. However, if you do see a large, terrifying dog-like monster, with red eyes and dripping fangs, for Pete’s sake do not approach.
We would like to reassure our staff and the public that we have the best team looking into this mystery. We are certain the explanation for all these mysterious sightings will be elementary”
The theatre is asking for the public’s help to track down the creature using social media. People are encouraged to report any sightings of large paw prints or even the hound itself to @LivEveryPlay using the hashtag #FoundTheHound.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend important public information performances of Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery from Saturday 9th December to Saturday 13th January at the Playhouse to find out more about the investigation.
