RuPaul’s Drag Race season 5 winner Jinkx Monsoon will be co-starring in critically-acclaimed comedy-cabaret show The Vaudevillians at Unity Theatre as part of Homotopia Festival 2017 and has added a second performance due to popular demand.
Throughout the 1920s, Kitty Witless and Dr. Dan Von Dandy toured the United States as The Vaudevillians, wowing audiences with their edgy, original music. One day, while touring through Antarctica, they were victims of a devastating avalanche and were buried under two tons of sleet and snow – instantly freezing them alive.
Thanks to Global Warming, they recently thawed out only to discover that pop artists had stolen their music and passed it off as their own. Now, at long last, they are taking to the stage to reclaim their songs, performing their music as originally composed in a vintage cabaret with a twist of drag.
Favourite of worldwide hit television phenomenon, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Jinkx Monsoon is the sassy alter ego of Portland born entertainer, Jerick Hoffer.
Having toured worldwide, Jinkx has performed two sell out, extended runs at London’s Soho Theatre with off Broadway U.S. spectacle The Vaudevillians, co-starring Major Scales and returning last Christmas with follow up seasonal sell-out Unwrapped.
Earlier in 2017 she performed as part of The Drag Ball at London’s Eventium Apollo Theatre and co-starred with Peaches Christ in the much-buzzed-about Return to Grey Gardens in N.Y.C. and London.
The Vaudevillans, the first performance announced as part of this year’s internationally renowned Homotopia Festival, will be performing at Unity Theatre on Friday 3rd and November 5th at 7.30pm, the original date sold out in less than a week.
An extra performance has been added on Friday 3rd November at 9:30pm. Tickets are priced at £16.50, with a concession price of £14.50, and are available from the Box Office on 0151 709 4988 or online via www.unitytheatreliverpool.co.uk.
