As the Everyman prepares to open The Sum, the fourth show by the resident Rep Company, the theatre has announced the schedule for the Rep Season that will see all five shows performed multiple times over the space of four weeks in June. There are new dates for the acclaimed Fiddler on the Roof and a chance to see the now familiar Company members shape-shift from one role to the next on a daily basis.
The Rep Season runs from Thursday 8th June to Saturday 1st July allowing return visits to see favourite shows or catch up on ones you’ve missed the first time around. There will be 12 performances of Fiddler on the Roof along with the chance to see The Conquest of the South Pole and The Story Giant again. The Sum and Romeo and Juliet which are yet to make their debuts on the Everyman stage will also return in Rep in June
With the potential for two different shows in the same day at times the skills of the Company will come to the fore as they spin from song and dance numbers to tender children’s stories to the abstraction of an Antarctic white out. Backstage the technical team will be transforming the beautiful sets to transport audiences from 1905 Russia to present day Liverpool via an attic and a crumbling castle.
The chance to see so many different plays over such a short period of time should give the Rep Season a real festival flavour during the light nights. The return of the Rep Company has been pioneering model for regional theatre in 2017 and the new schedule of plays is the last chance to see them in action.
Tickets are priced from £15 to £30 and subscription tickets are still available to see the full Company season at a discounted rate the more you see. Public booking for the Rep Season is open now.
Please check the Everyman/Playhouse website for times, dates and ticket prices of all shows.
