Summer of Fun With Something For Everyone At The Epstein Theatre.

As the city hosts the Summer of Love, there’s certainly plenty to love at The Epstein Theatre this summer as the historical venue hosts yet another sizzling season of sensational shows for everyone to enjoy.

The Epstein Theatre has proudly launched its brand-new brochure which reveals an exciting season of entertainment for Summer 2017. From May to August you can enjoy hilarious comedy and gripping drama to amazing music, top tribute acts, and fun for all the family.

The Beach Boys Band brings its popular show The Beach Boys Story to the Epstein on Friday 19th May.  The band delivers a stunning show of technicolour harmonies that will take your breath away. God Only Knows why you’d want to miss out on this feel-good show.

Prepare to be transported across 40 years of David Bowie’s amazing musical career when Ultimate Bowie takes to the stage on Saturday 20th May. The show delivers two stunning hours of Bowie classics, from Space Oddity to Let’s Dance and Bowie’s latest massive hit Blackstar. This show captures the essence and authenticity of David Bowie in concert.

See one of the U.K.’s most in demand comedians Carl Hutchinson on Thursday 25th May! From people who obnoxiously post motivational quotes on social media to those who urge you to put your phone in rice when you get it wet, Carl Hutchinson tackles a bunch of little everyday issues in his latest show The Fixer.

Television and recording star Joe Longthorne returns on Friday 26th May. Joe will be joined on stage with his sensational live band and special guest artist. Come and join Joe as he takes you on a rollercoaster of songs and impressions including Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and his incredible impression of Sammy Davis Jr, all delivered with 100% accuracy.

Two of Liverpool’s most celebrated daughters will return to the city for one night only on Tuesday 30th May, for the world premiere of new musical Liver Birds Flying Home based on Carla Lane’s beloved B.B.C. series The Liver Birds. This exclusive one night only concert, directed by Sarah Tipple, presents a West End cast and features all new songs and a powerful script.

Students of the Christopher Maloney Academy present their end of term showcase on Wednesday 31st May. Families and friends can proudly watch their little ones as they show off their theatrical skills on The Epstein’s stage.

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album and to celebrate the occasion; The Mersey Beatles present the whole album live in a series of shows to be performed all around the world! Relive Beatlemania and catch the whole album live on Thursday 1st June.

Channel 5’s Milkshake! Live will be bringing The Magic Story Book to The Epstein Theatre on Friday 2nd June, much to the joy of children all across Liverpool! Characters including Bob The Builder, Noddy and Fireman Sam will come alive in this brand new live show which is sure to amaze and delight.

Local singer Justine Riddoch will prove she’s ‘Simply The Best’ Tina Turner tribute when she performs on Saturday 3rd June with Totally Tina. The U.K.’s Official No.1 Tribute to Tina Turner has wowed audiences across the globe with her faithful and explosive tribute to the ‘Queen of Rock n Roll’ and this hometown show is not to be missed.

The Last Five Years is a multi-award winning musical that takes audiences on an emotional rollercoaster through the heart rending relationship of two young New Yorkers which takes to the Epstein stage from Thursday 15th to Saturday 17th June. Follow the couple as their stories move in opposite directions, one from heartbreak to hope and the other from hope to heartbreak.

After a successful 2016 visit, The Epstein Theatre welcomes back Genesis Connected for what is sure to be another full house on Sunday 18th June. The show has an incredible mix of material, from atmospheric anthems to chart toppers that will get the crowd dancing in the aisles.

Toxteth-born Thomas Lang performs with his live band on Thursday 22nd June in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the critically acclaimed album ‘Scallywag Jaz’! Catch ‘The Happy Man’ as he takes to the stage to prove that his voice has stood the 30-year test of time.

The brand-new comedy Seriously Dead will have you die laughing on Friday 23rd June! A chain of riotously funny events is set in motion which brings the lives of Betty, Albert, Billy and the flamboyant undertaker Tristan de Winter to an uncomfortable crossroads. Their lives become inextricably linked on a path leading them all towards the newly digitalised Pearly Gates.

Jamie Somers presents the finest night of variety in Liverpool this year with Jamie Somers and Friends Variety at Its Best on Saturday 24th June. The show stars Searchin’, the U.K.’s leading tribute to The Searchers, Steve Daley as Elton John, Phil Steele – The Million $ Hypnotist, Lara Simpson – electric rock violinist and internet dance sensation ‘Lecky Legs’.

The Tommy Cooper show returns from Monday 26th June until Saturday 1st July. With West End Star Daniel Taylor as Tommy Cooper in the knockout performance of the year, this promises to be a very special show.

Get ready to do the ‘bend and snap’ as Legally Blonde is coming to town from Friday 7th until Saturday 8th July. LHK Youth Theatre explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Hilarious, heart-warming and shockingly pink, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal.

The Heath Perform in association with LIPA 4:19 are delighted to be back for the third year to present their end of year musical theatre and dramatic showcase. Join them for an evening of spectacular entertainment on Sunday 9th July.

An Audience with Stan Boardman will give a fascinating insight into Stan’s life and growing up in Liverpool when it arrives on The Epstein’s stage on Saturday 15th July. The show will consist of stand-up routines, archive clips and an interactive chat with the audience.

Tread is delighted to be celebrating its 10th anniversary at The Epstein Theatre with Tread 10th Anniversary Showcase on Sunday 16th July. The show promises to be incredible, fusing together selections of work from the past 10 years as well as new and exciting material too.

Gary Murphy’s Guitar Legends – The Rock and Roll Years is a show you will not want to miss on Thursday 27th July. Performed by Gary and his multi-talented band, the story is narrated by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Billy Butler.

The Life and Story of Mario Lanza performed by Victor Michael comes to The Epstein Theatre on Thursday 3rd August and with support from Faye Gregory-Lambert and Louise Rogan, this show promises a night of sensational live music.

Returning to the Epstein after two sell-out performances is The Ball of Fire on Friday 4th August. Experience the life and times of the great Alan Ball, beautifully played out through a dramatisation that recounts his early struggles on the road to becoming a professional footballer.
