A Trio Of Stand Up Comedy Greats Coming To St. George’s Hall This Autumn.

Fancy a good laugh? Look no further than St George’s Hall Concert Room to catch a line-up of three nights of the best rib-cracking stand-up comedy acts this autumn.

Emerging as one of Liverpool’s leading comedy venues, The Concert Room will feature national television favourites Jenny Eclair, Seann Walsh and Marcus Brigstocke and tickets are on sale now.

She is younger than Madonna but eats crisps and likes wine, too young to die, but too old to stand near the edge in case she gets dizzy and falls over, professional Grumpy old woman Jenny Eclair announces How to Be a Middle Aged Woman (Without Going Insane), a brand new show and tour which stops off at St George’s Hall’s Concert Room on Wednesday 9th November.

Jenny Eclair has been a stand-up comic since the last millennium: she was the first woman to win the coveted ‘Perrier Award’ and hasn’t stopped banging on about it ever since. Previously Jenny has co-written and starred in Grumpy Old Women Live 2: Chin Up Britain on Tour in London’s West End and has starred in a number of other West End productions including Steaming, Mum’s The Word and The Vagina Monologues. Jenny came third in I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here (I.T.V.1) has presented on Loose Women (I.T.V.1) and has done ‘acting’ on Holby City (B.B.C. One) and Skins (E4). You are most welcome to join her, just button your cardigan up properly and wipe that lipstick off your teeth.

Seann Walsh AKA ‘The Lie-in King’ returns with a brand-new show, One for the Road on Wednesday 16th November. Described by The Guardian as “unquestionably the best observational comic of his generation”. However dishevelled he may be, the Foster’s Comedy Award nominee is also one of the best comics in the country. With a keen observational mind, Seann can spot the absurdity in everything and convert it to perfectly delivered stand-up comedy.

Seann can be seen all over the television appearing on many comedy panel shows including Team captain of Channel 4 and E4’s Virtually Famous and a regular on I.T..V’s Play To The Whistle. He has appeared on B.B.C.1’s Live at the Apollo, I.T.V.’s Jonathan Ross Show and Tonight at The London Palladium, I.T.V. 2’s Celebrity Juice, Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Comedy Central’s Russell Howards Stand Up Central. You might have seen Seann on television, but he’s something else live – pacing the stage, working the room and reducing crowds to hysterics. Even if he’d probably rather be at home watching Sky Sports News!

Next up is one of Britain’s finest comedians and broadcasters, Marcus Brigstocke, he brings his brand new stand up show Why The Long Face? to The Concert Room. Marcus’s talent was noted early on in his career in 1996 when he won the ‘B.B.C. New Comedian Award’ at the Edinburgh Festival. He is now regarded as a major comedy, writing and acting talent, performing stand up nationally to sell out audiences around the U.K. and globally at international comedy festivals.

B.B.C .Radio 4 has become somewhat of a second home to him with regular appearances on The Now Show and Just A Minute, and he has notched up an impressive list of television credits including team captain on Argumental (DAVE) and the host of B.B.C.4’s The Late Edition and I’ve Never Seen Star Wars. Prepare for aching stitches all around on Tuesday 6th December!
