Welcome to the New Reich,
Welcome to the
British Reich,
you might not be able to see the dawn
of the new realm yet
through the glaze of square eyed
television or perhaps you
haven’t felt the terror
seeping in through the gutter,
Welcome to the New Reich.
Welcome to the New Reich,
suits you, suits them,
suits for all, boxes
for all, tick boxes, categories, the confidence trick,
just a small cut here, a nip there,
a tuck away for a rainy day,
their rainy, downpour, chastised, teeth pulled day,
not yours, become poor, not your fault
and yet the work house is booming in production;
Welcome to the New Reich.
Welcome to the New Reich,
the days are growing black
in their sunshine filled utopia,
as one by one, daughter and son
are told to spy on their parents,
the virtual reality their reality
because it’s so much better than seeing your parents
removed from the rules,
the rules, the new realm rules;
Welcome to the New Reich.
Welcome to the New Reich,
the means of mass impotence,
charge for knowledge, charge for air,
now everybody aspires to pay Google Tax,
the truth in decay, Starbucks will have its day,
let the migrant rot,
never see the person in the wheelchair,
avoid the eyes of the compassionate,
looking out for Number One;
Welcome to the New British Reich.
