Red hot multi-award-winning Blues group King King are coming to rock The Epstein Theatre on Wednesday 9th March and are bringing along special guest Laurence Jones.
King King are on a roll and with an army of fans and armfuls of awards, it’s hard to believe that Alan Nimmo (vocals/guitar), Lindsay Coulson (bass), Wayne Proctor (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keys) have come so far, so fast.
In six meteoric years, King King have established themselves as “the hottest draw in British blues-rock” (The Blues Magazine). The fire and soul of the Glasgow band’s early work – 2011’s Take My Hand and 2013’s Standing In The Shadows – scored them Best Album and Best Band at the respected British Blues Awards.
With 2015’s acclaimed Reaching For The Light, they scaled even greater heights, nominated for Best New Band at Classic Rock’s prestigious Roll Of Honour and inducted into The British Blues Awards Hall Of Fame (for three consecutive Best Band wins).
Suffice to say, the early tip of veteran B.B.C. D.J. Paul Jones was right on the money: “Here at Radio 2, we think King King are going to go all the way…” Yet there’s so smoke and mirrors about their rise – just killer songs, performed with true passion, by a fist-tight line-up.
Penned from the heart and performed with true passion, King King’s thrilling brand of blues-rock crosses continents and defies cliché. With their tough-and-tender original material and white-hot chemistry, few modern bands are pushing blues-rock further.
Theatre manager Rebekah Pichilingi, said, “We can’t wait to welcome King King – we’re pretty sure they will set the Epstein on fire!”
