The Concert Room at Liverpool’s St George’s Hall plays host to the irrepressible Dillie Keane for a one night only show on Thursday 3rd March 2016, after celebrating 30 years of Fascinating Aïda. She takes a short break from her gal pals to present her first solo show in ‘557 years’!
With brand new tunes, grand old favourites, gorgeous songs of love and hilarious songs of utter wickedness, Dillie will break your heart, mend it again and have it sent to the cleaners for pressing.
Best known as one third of comedy cabaret trio Fascinating Aïda which debuted in 1983, the usual energetic piano playing will sure to have the audience in stitches of laughter with Dillies’ charmingly offensive antics and she’ll undoubtedly give you her recipe for chutney while she’s at it!
The success doesn’t stop at Fascinating Aïda; Dillie was nominated for a ‘Perrier Award’ for her one woman show Single Again (1990) and has been writing extensively for newspapers and radio stations with a column in Stage Magazine for over 10 years. She has amassed over 17 million hits on YouTube for her charming and now infamous takes on a variety of topics from cheap flights to OFSTED.
Dillie said, “I think I must be descended from a long line of itinerants, because there’s nothing that makes me happier than hitting the road again and I’m delighted my little show is getting a longer shelf life and I’ve got a chance to do it in the places I love – our British provincial towns.”
Dillie will be touring with the exceptionally talented Michael Roulston, well known on the cabaret circuit in London.
Having studied music at Trinity College, Dublin, and acting at LAMDA, Keane founded Fascinating Aïda in 1983, discovering her now long term writing partner Adele Anderson who joined in 1984. With the trio she has enjoyed 30 years of success, playing countless tours around the U.K. and Ireland as well as across the globe.
Fascinating Aïda will return in 2017 after her Fascinating Aïda partner Adele Anderson returns to full strength after a battle with cancer.
