This year’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll panto at the Everyman will be Rapunzel: Hairway to Heaven written by regular duo Sarah A Nixon and Mark Chatterton. The cast includes legendary double-act Adam Keast and Francis Tucker as well as L.I.P.A. graduate Stephanie Hockley as Rapunzel, while Marianne Benedict, Sam Haywood and Tom Connor also feature. This ‘Tangled’ version of the Bothers Grimm’s tale is at the Hope Street venue from 28th November to 23rd January.
Audience favourites Adam Keast and Francis Tucker rekindle their famous double-act, as Horace and his love interest Doris, taking to the stage thrill and soak the crowd in equal measure. Stephanie Hockley makes her Everyman debut as the heroine Rapunzel. Stephanie who is a graduate of L.I.P.A. has also appeared in Sleeping Beauty at Colchester Mercury.
Following appearances in Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin, Marianne Benedict returns as Poisonella. Marianne’s West End theatre credits include Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, We Will Rock You and The Wizard of Oz. Sam Haywood – Skye in last year’s Little Red Riding Hood at the Everyman – plays the King, Tom Connor is Lord Alistair Banister. Joining the music and mayhem for the first time are Martina Isibor as Fairy Stardust along with Adam Bowler, Greg Last and Nicola Hawkins.
Audiences will be treated to flying, water and special effects, all inside the Everyman’s famous three sided auditorium.
For the fifth time the rock ‘n’ roll panto will include an autism friendly/relaxed performance which increases in popularity every year. This year’s show will be staged on Monday 18th January. There will also be a range of British Sign Language, captioned and audio described performances throughout the run.
So dig out your party pants, break out the glitter and wave your flashing wand as the legendary rock ‘n’ roll panto is back to shake, rattle and roll the Everyman rafters once more!
