Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10
The Revolution will not be televised, it will barely even get advertising space for such things would never be allowed and yet for Leeds sensation Jupiter Falls, the Revolution has already begun in earnest, the uprising has gathered pace and through massive endeavour and sheer quality, Revolution has been unleashed.
The new album by Jupiter Falls is one that crackles and sizzles with excitement, like the first brush of solitary match against gun powder that leads to the demolition of the prison gates or the untamed glee at the sight of a mutiny in the ranks when they consider just whose side they are really on. Revolution is a boomtown waiting to explode in the ears of the listener, it is the modern definition of causing upheaval in the mind and the soul of the pre-converted and bringing them back to the side of British Heavy Rock, so long stranded on a wasteland and bordered by Europe’s growing elite.
If Revolution calls, should it ever be answered, or does the status quo of knowing exactly where you are in the place of things always be taken for granted, after all, Revolution does not always bring a kinder, more appealing situation in which to breathe. Yet for the Leeds band, the music they offer is not just a quick scorched policy, this is no small skirmish into the territory which has been quite rightly it seems usurped by the growing number of Scandinavian and European Metal/Rock bands. This is a full blown declaration of war and whilst the generals of the British scene prepare for their response in September, Jupiter Falls have grabbed the headlines ahead of the battle.
In tracks such as Chasing The Dragon, the excellent Story of a Liar, the outstanding World War Three and End of the World, the shift in the dynamic is unbelievably strong and with a set of vocals supplied by James Hart that could add more fire power to an attack than any weapon of misguided and fruitless war, Revolution doesn’t just call, it howls in the night ordering all defences to be breached and the revolt fully, and finally, joined.
A class debut album by Jupiter Falls, one of pounding prosperity and insurrection!
