One fairly careful,
but sometimes under-valued owner
prone to breakdown on occasions
when the weather and temperament gets too hot,
has rust spots where lack of full thrust
and fifth gear has only ever been imagined
but never put in practice.
Right headlight needs work,
best not try on full beam as photophobia
may upset other users.
Stereo works well, too well, sometimes
only available on loud, especially when
the mood hits and the upbeat open road
seems clear of clutter, place objects in way,
feed it the wrong energy to stop
annoying veering into Progressive tunes.
Vehicle is at times able to seem like a stubborn
mule holding up other road users,
best to try and find way round it
rather than tempting with a carrot
or hitting with a stick, neither really gets results.
The engine at times is sluggish and is more
used to the feeling of blissful static charm
but place on downhill trajectory and it shifts
very quickly with the momentum offered of hitting
rock bottom and is then difficult to get out
of the rut you have driven it into.
Its freewill is out of this world and
it is perhaps left to its own devices
as it goes from believing it is an 20 tonne articulate lorry
to a run-down single seater with the springs
placed into the chair at the wrong angle and many
a slash marks are concealed with new vinyl covering.
We recommend not looking under the bonnet,
for the sight is not pretty and the mess that is there
will have many an enthusiast or potential
buyer handing back the keys
with a disappointed sigh after once taking
it round the block for that early test drive.
The wheels need close attention
as does the rear view mirror
which is disturbingly clear
and can lead to accidents when used
with a window screen which suffers from foggy
disposition and rose tinted wipers.
It is impossible to gage how many miles
the vehicle has done, as not every yard
has yet been recorded but it knows
its way from home to Birmingham and back
without having to navigate any obstacle.
It is one of a set but the other has not been seen
in recent times and has perhaps been allowed
to be used as a chicken coop somewhere
and its own value has reached the point where
it can be exchanged for a new model
without any disgrace to its own very conscientious
owner who treated it with care but like all
sad vehicles built around that time
the female owner is far nicer than the car she drove.
Emissions are perhaps a bit high, nothing can be done
about that.
Overall you could never give this vehicle away,
once taken a shine too and with polish, care
and attention the broken chassis no longer
matters and besides
money cannot be returned for it holds
only sentimental value.
At the time of placing advert, the owner
will not sell.
