One of the brightest and most original trios of Liverpool theatre return to the Unity stage between Thursday 25th and Saturday 27th June with the tremendous The Art of Falling Apart and for the final ever time Big Wow, Matt Rutter, Tim Lynskey and writer and agent mirth maker Robert Farquhar, will see the life of Callum descend into chaos against a backdrop of a city on the edge of dynamic confusion and sheer madness.
Robert Farquhar met Matt Rutter and Tim Lynskey at Liverpool Hope University and a strong friendship emerged alongside a passion for creating original comic theatre. Matt and Tim presented sketch comedy in the Unity Theatre’s bar which Robert was invited to see, this led to an experiment, the creation of a devised show which was honed through writing with an anarchic, comic, in-yer-face edge.
Their shows have included: Extra Happy Happy, Swanky Geezer Nonsense, Insomnobabble, Dark Grumblings and The Friendship Experiment. They have performed at Edinburgh five times and they have performed at Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
This wonderful piece of anarchic but wholesome comedy or errs and errors, of one man’s fight to stay sane in a city full of the greatest collection of off the wall characters likely to ever be seen performed by two men has been a highlight of Liverpool theatre over the last decade, if you’ve never seen it before, now is your last chance, if you have taken in the life of Callum and seen it and loved it, then see it again, after all, Saturday nights were made for such events.
Tickets for The Art of Falling Apart are available from the Unity Theatre Box office and are priced at £12 with concessions available at £10.
