Sunset Sons have announced details of a headline tour of the U.K. and Ireland in May. The hotly-tipped four-piece will play eight dates throughout May with a night in Liverpool at the 02 Academy on May 8th.
Sunset Sons make anthemic, propulsive indie-rock and are being thought of as one of the breakthrough acts of 2015. As well as featuring on the B.B.C. Sound of 2015 shortlist they are one of M.T.V. Brand New’s and XFM Great X-Pectations’ tips for the year and have been widely tipped elsewhere by tastemakers across the media. The Times recently awarded them four stars for their sold-out London show at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen.
The four friends – Rory, Jed, Rob and Pete – are based in the idyllic French town of Hossegor and came together through a shared love of surfing. They cut their teeth playing riotous rock ’n’ roll shows to a rowdy snowboarding crowd in the French Alps. “We played loads of very raucous shows up there during winter,” says Rob. “It helped us get tight.”
The Anglo-Aussie quartet will release The Fall Line E.P. on March 8th on Polydor. They are currently recording their debut album in Nashville with Jacquire King.
The May tour will start in Bristol on the 1st and will take in cities such as Oxford, Nottingham and Brighton, as well as the one night only in Liverpool on May 8th.
Tickets for the May tour will go on pre-sale on Wednesday 4th February and general sale on Friday 6th February and will be available at www.sunsetsons.com.
