Following an exceptional 2014 for the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Rumer will reach out to the Epstein Theatre on Friday 20th February for one night only as part of her eleven date headline tour of the U.K.
Rumer’s new U.K. Top 10 studio album and Radio 2 Album of the Week, Into Colour, is receiving wide-spread critical acclaim and had recent sell-out shows at the Lowry Quays Theatre in Salford and Islington Assembly Hall in London. Rumer will release a new single, the sensual and soft-lit Reach Out on January 14th.
Her second album of original material, Into Colour, follows the million-selling debut Seasons of my Soul, which won Rumer a Mojo Award, BRIT nominations, and saw her headline the Royal Albert Hall. The new record continues a personal journey which has already seen Rumer – born north of Islamabad in 1979 – go from a variety of service jobs and a decade on the unsigned circuit to one of the more surprising crossovers in recent times. She quickly won fans ranging from Elton John to Richard Carpenter, who wrote to offer his “congratulations” for creating something “actually musical, which has been in short supply in recent years.”
The album will remind many of the Rumer they first fell for but in a mood not heard her in previously. Musically, it’s more upbeat and sensual, expanding the Technicolour Bacharach sound to further incorporate elements of Philly grooves, Soul and even Disco.
