Currently on the road in North America to conclude an epic album campaign, touring their critically acclaimed 7th studio album Loud Like Love, Placebo have announced that they will return to the U.K. and Ireland in February/ March 2015 to play their most extensive run of shows since 2006.
The tour kicks off in Dublin on the 25th February and comes to the University of Liverpool’s Guild of Students on the 10th March.
This extensive U.K. tour is something the band have been wanting to do for a long time, marking the start of an exciting series of events and releases planned ahead of the bands 20th Anniversary celebrations in 2016, looking back over an incredible catalogue of such songs as Nancy Boy, Pure Morning, Taste In Men, Special K and this fan favourite, The Bitter End.
Placebo have now survived nearly 20 years of love, hate, blood, sweat, tears, break ups and harmony all the whilst toting up over 1 million album sales in the U.K., and over 12 million albums sold worldwide, and are still going strong.
They have played to the most loyal fans in over 63 different countries, ranging from football stadiums in Chile to temples in Cambodia and a disused mine at a UNESCO world heritage site in Germany.
It has also been announced that Brian Molko has revealed that he is releasing a retrospective book containing his own selection of lyrics from throughout his 20-year career at the helm of Placebo. Titled Brian Molko – Selected’the book is available to order from BrianMolko.com on Friday 31st October.
