Accomplished duo, ‘Sweet Baby James’ (Brian Dales & Jon Chamberlain), visit Liverpool on July 11th to share the music of legendary troubadour, James Taylor.
Brought to you in the intimate setting of The Lantern Theatre, this will be a relaxing evening of James Taylor’s hits (including You’ve Got A Friend, Fire & Rain and Carolina in My Mind) plus more of the many varied songs that make up Taylor’s repertoire.
Sweet Baby James has been toured the U.K. throughout 2013 enjoying enthusiastic responses wherever they go.
On guitar, Brian Dales effortlessly mimics Taylor’s original playing style. On keyboards, Jon Chamberlain recreates the varied textures of Taylor’s music including electric pianos, sweeping pads, intimate strings and powerful Hammond organs. For Brian in particular, perfecting this music has been a lifelong quest and the result is truly authentic.
Whilst Brian’s journey with James Taylor’s music goes back many years, this current musical line-up is in its relative infancy. Having only played with Jon since June 2012, Brian says this is the most comfortable he has ever felt playing this music: “It’s great to perform with Jon as we are both on the same wavelength, and I don’t just mean in terms of the music. This project came together as much through a shared love of tea and Monty Python as it did through James Taylor’s song-writing!”
While James Taylor plays to sell-out stadiums all over the world, this is a rare opportunity to hear his music in a smaller, intimate venue, performed as it once was.
