This April, St Helens Theatre Royal has prepared a very exciting and magical line up on offer; including the ultimate party show featuring all the greatest hits from the 70’s, a fabulous three day run of a hilarious comedy musical set in the wacky world of an escort agency and a truly wicked fairytale classic as this year’s Easter panto.
Kicking things off on the 3rd to the 5th April is Escorts: The Musical; one of the sauciest and wackiest shows of the year. Starring Crissy Rock and Duggie Brown from Television’s The Comedians show, Escorts takes audiences on a hilarious rollercoaster ride into the wild world of ‘The Liverbirds Escort Agency’, a place where anything can happen – and it usually does! Set during Grand National Weekend, young American student Emmy returns to Liverpool to uncover the secrets of her childhood, she finds a lot more than she bargained for. Containing loads of great original songs, Escorts: The Musical is a belly-aching comedy not to be missed!
Regal Entertainments returns with an egg-stravagant panto this Easter as family favourite Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs comes to town from 11th – 21st April. Hot off the record breaking success of 2013’s Peter Pan, this wickedly delightful treat is chock-full of glitz, glamour, songs, dance, family fun, silly antics and slapstick comedy; the magical ingredients which have made the Theatre Royal’s seasonal shows a great success in the past. Local stage favourites Charlie Griffiths, and Simon Foster, Coronation Street’s Nick Cochrane and Radio City’s Claire Simmo are back by popular demand, and this time they’ll be joined by three new faces; Charlotte Gallagher, Jordan Carr and Liam Mellor, who are joining Regal Entertainments for the very first time. With 1pm and 5pm shows, group offers, and discounted family tickets available, there’s no reason to grumpy!
From one glitzy show to another, St Helens should get ready to boogie the night away on 25th April as the U.K.’s most spectacular ABBA tribute theatre show arrives to get everyone dancing in the aisles. Dancing Queen: The Show is brought to the stage by a glittering cast of musicians, dancers and vocalists, who perform all of ABBA’s greatest hits live including Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mamma Mia, and will perfectly recreate definitive 70s numbers such as Summer Nights, Grease Lightening, You’re the one that I want, Car Wash, YMCA, Boogie Nights and Love is in the Air meaning the grooviest era of all is back, and for one night only.
