A hapless idiot with a wildly out of date Lonely Planet goes travelling and looking for an ‘experience’.
From Wednesday 12th till Saturday 15th February Big Wow will return to the Unity Theatre with their first ever show, Extra, Extra Happy, to raise funds to support their 2014 Edinburgh Fringe show – The Art Of Falling Apart which premiered at the Unity Theatre in 2012!
Big Wow have always been a superb act to watch, lively, anarchic and insanely brilliant and the combination of writer Robert Farquhar and performers Matt Rutter and Tim Lynskey are just too good to ignore. Their shows have included: Extra Happy Happy, Swanky Geezer Nonsense, Insomnobabble, Dark Grumblings and The Friendship Experiment and The Art Of Falling Apart. They have performed at Edinburgh four times and they have performed at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
Robert Farquhar met Matt Rutter and Tim Lynskey at Liverpool Hope University and a strong friendship emerged alongside a passion for creating original comic theatre. Matt and Tim presented sketch comedy in the Unity theatre’s bar which Robert was invited to see, this led to an experiment, the creation of a devised show which was honed through writing with an anarchic, comic, in-yer-face edge.
Expect sock puppets, ladyboys, talking goats and extreme silliness.
Tickets for Extra Happy Happy are available to purchase from the Unity Theatre Box office on Hope Place, by telephone on 0844 8732888 or online at www.unitytheatre.co.uk. Tickets are priced at £10.
