The Capstone Theatre are delighted to welcome Liverpool Guitar Society on Sunday 3rd November as they present an evening of calm, meditative stillness; performing a selection of special ensemble arrangements, which reflect upon the human condition.
Guest will be able to enjoy performances from the group as classical guitar quartets and as a full 10 piece orchestra. The evening’s repertoire will include: Samuel Barber Adagio for Strings, Radiohead Motion Picture Soundtrack, Gavin Bryars Glorious Hill and Richard Harding November alongside pieces by Debussy and Ravel.
The Liverpool Guitar Society provides a fresh opportunity for classical guitarists of all ages, backgrounds and abilities with the main aim to encourage, promote and raise the profile of the classical guitar in Merseyside.
Holding meetings at Hope University, the society offers a friendly, encouraging and social community for classical guitarists to discuss all things classical guitar.
Members get the chance to play both solo and as an ensemble whilst given the exciting opportunity to be involved in public performances and to attend master classes and recitals by visiting performers.
Tickets for the show are just £5 (£3 concessions) and are available on the door only.
