Feisty fairytale heroine Little Red Riding Hood is to take up residence in the Liverpool Actors Studio theatre this festive season. A brand new production of this much loved tale – a great family alternative to pantomime – will run from the 3rd till the 21st December and tickets are on sale now!

Penned by Karen Blick, the writer behind The Actors Studio’s hit 2012 Christmas Show The Gingerbread Man, produced by English Rice Productions and The Liverpool Actors Studio and directed by Barrie Ryan English, Little Red Riding Hood is a modern day re-telling of this classic children’s tale with a unique Actors Studio twist. Join Red, her family and the Big Bad Wolf for some magical entertainment this Christmas in the intimate surroundings of Liverpool Actors Studio.

In this humorous new version of the story, suitable for all ages, Red is an ambitious and hard working ‘A’ grade student who won’t invite any mates round for tea in case her madcap Mum, Delilah, embarrasses her. Delilah despairs with Red and wishes she’d been born with half her own talent. She has been club singer stuck in the 80s, she toured with Chas n Dave, and has never been the same since Limahl left Kajagoogoo. Then there’s Red’s Gran, Doris, who lives alone on the other side of the forest – a new age hippy healer who can balance your chakras, heal your aura and loves QVC. A twist of fate and a fiendish caller to Grandma’s house brings this family together in a way Red could never have imagined!

Barrie Ryan English, Artistic Director at the Actors Studio said, “Last year we had new heating installed so we were able to produce the theatre’s first Christmas show, The Gingerbread Man, which was a huge success.
