There are just some shows that even on paper look so good, so funny that you know if you miss them you might as well be a social pariah for a while. Such is the case for Dave Kirby’s latest theatre outing, Dreaming of a Barry White Christmas.
Beneath the rotating wheel outside the Echo Arena and B.T. Convention Centre, Six leading actors from a city that produces so many incredible performers gather and kick start off the storm of activity that makes Liverpool theatres such an extraordinary place to be over the festive period.
From Tuesday 17th December till Saturday 21st December, Andrew Schofield, Alan Stocks, Paul Duckworth, Lenny Wood and the fabulous Gillian Hardie and Keddy Sutton will be performing at the Echo Two at the Echo Arena in the Christmas themed show Dreaming of a Barry White Christmas. Together with Liverpool writing legend Dave Kirby, they took the show’s costumes through their paces in the Liverpool sunshine and gave a brief glimpse of one of the songs that will be performed during the week before Christmas, the excitement already started to rise at the prospect of seeing such a fine cast on a big stage.
The play is described as a ‘Scouse Scrooge’ comedy and as the title suggests is crammed full of songs from Barry White’s impressive back catalogue including Love’s Theme, Can’t Get Enough of Your Love Babe and It May Be Winter Outside. Dreaming of a Barry White Christmas will also have other huge 70’s numbers as well, more than enough to get feet tapping and the thought of warm winter nights tucked up inside the house…after being at the panot of course!
Tickets are on sale now from the Box office on 0844 8000400, online at www.echoarena.com or in person at the TicketQuarter on Queen Square in Liverpool.
